Playing with my new camera - and REALLY enjoying the so-called nifty 50! Both of the following were shot wide open at f1.8.
Great for portraits (actually it might be TOO clear

And I found a great surface to understand 'bokeh' - I didn't expect such nice round blurring after a review I saw had sort of pentagonal shapes. [ISO 100, 1/3200]
I wish they made a nifty 24 too - It's going to be some months before I can save up for the 24mm f2.8 prime that Canon has (at least Adorama has a couple used
