Playing with my new camera - and REALLY enjoying the so-called nifty 50! Both of the following were shot wide open at f1.8.

Great for portraits (actually it might be TOO clear ;)) [ISO 1600, 1/200]

And I found a great surface to understand 'bokeh' - I didn't expect such nice round blurring after a review I saw had sort of pentagonal shapes. [ISO 100, 1/3200]

I wish they made a nifty 24 too - It's going to be some months before I can save up for the 24mm f2.8 prime that Canon has (at least Adorama has a couple used :-)

I agree, the Canon 50mm lens is worth the money and then some....

The only problem I had with it was that is made me buy the 50 1.4.

I just ordered the same for my Nikon today. I'm so excited to get it for my Disney trip in 6 Days!!:goodvibes

Can I ask how much it was? I have the original I bought used from someone for $50.

Adorama had it for $99.95 with free shipping.

$50 was a real deal!

Don't forget about bing.com. You could have gotten a new one for 93.00 or a recertified one for 80.00 at Adorama, using BCB

There are several lenses that Adorama has in their used section that have my interest, I expect I'll be sending more money their way as time goes by. ;)
