Besides Kevin, Who Is Your Favorite "Foodie"?

Oooooh! I forgot to say Guy Fieri too. Love Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. I also enjoy Man v. Food. Great show! I can just never get it straight who is on Food Network and who is on Travel Channel.

Best Alton Brown is when he shows you the only way to safely fry a turkey. Too funny!

Good Eats is a GREAT show. Alton Brown is incredibly informative and entertaining. I think he's the best the Food Network has, and that's saying a lot.

I LOVE Anthony Bourdain. I think of myself as a pretty daring person, but that man ATE THE BEATING HEART OF A COBRA. I mean, my reaction to that was just... WHAT? I love anyone who will do stuff like that because I just do not have it in me. His show is the best, but I haven't read any of his books. Have you guys?

Alton Brown is a bit much for me, but some of the "Good Eats" episodes are entertaining. My all time favorite foodie is Rachel Ray, with Paula Deen in a close second. :)

You should watch Zimern, he eats stuff that would make Bourdain squeal like a 12 year old.

I do watch Andrew sometimes! The stuff he eats makes me squirm. Like, I have to be prepared to watch that show.

I remember on an episode of Anthony, he went somewhere where they kill penguins and eat their flesh raw. That freaked me out. I love watching these shows because that's just something I never would have had any idea even happens, and yet it's common practice for these people.

I think they were Puffins. Was it in Iceland?

Oh, were they puffins? I get them confused sometimes. I don't remember, it was a long time ago that I watched it. I remember them sitting in a circle and putting all the meat in the center, and just eating it like that and it was all bloody and everything. Anthony was talking about how touched he was by the togetherness of the people during this though, which made me see it in a different light. He's great.

Julia Child; I had the pleasure of meeting her when I was in cooking school (long story. I don't cook professionally anymore). She made an amazing contribution to food at a very bland time. Julia was a generous woman with her time and experience. She was tall.

Emeril Lagasse: I had the pleasure of eating at his flagship restaurant in NOLA before he reached uber-stardom. He was in the kitchen that night and came around to the tables to make sure we were enjoying dinner. Very nice man and no where near what you see on tv.

Ina Garten:I just like her dishes.

I love Alton Brown because he's a chef that's also a bit of a geek, and I do have a crush on him. I like that he uses charts and props to prove a point, and shows you how you can totally mess up a dish by doing the wrong thing.

I like Guy Fieri because he looks like someone you'd want to party with, or at the very least have beer and shoot some pool with. Same with Duff Goldman from Ace of Cakes. I would want to hang out with the entire staff of Charm City Cakes. I appreciate all the snarkiness. But on the other hand...

...I'd want to be invited to a party thrown by Ina Garten, because you know the food will be GOOD. Everything she makes looks fantastic, especially when it's really simple.

Anthony Bourdain is high on my Love List simply because he is a supporter of foie gras. Unapologetically so. More power to him.

Paula Deen gives me a butter high. :p
But I think her son Bobby is adorable. Not sure what team he plays for, but I still think he's cute. :flower3:

As echoed, Alton is probably the best overall, but I watch No Reservations with Anthony every week. One of our happiest moments was when I got our new channel guide and saw we now have Food Network in high def!!! :cool1:

Of course that mean's that I get Giada in high def too! :hyper:

-TGr

Does Duff Count?!!! I Love Duff!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just love Ina Garten. She did a whole show on cheese this week. I wouldn't fix a thing she made, but the show was wonderful. And Jeffrey... "it's tough to be Mr. Garten." Actually, the whole crew of people Ina has on the show. Love 'em.

Also love Giada De Laurentiis and the travel shows she's been doing lately. So easy on the eyes....

And Alton. He rocks. Nothing more need be said.

Alton is my favorite. I got to meet him at the Cleveland Food and Wine show in 2007. I also love Giada but it has nothing to do with her cooking ;)

Rob Rainford. I want to be his neighbor so I could be invited over for dinner. :thumbsup2 My DS10 has been a Rachel Ray and Giada De Laurentiis since forever.

Not really food but I would love to go out on the town with Kevin Brauch. I doubt I would survive it but it sure would be fun.
