Morning Angels! I'm Back from my LONG weekend at the Lake. I had pages and pages to read to catch up
Weekend was great except for that horrible storm that hit.
We got it about an hour before it hit Pittsburgh. We had tree branches down all over the yard and it overturned all the Planters down by the dock.

Carol, I hope you get back online quick! I just hate being without my computer.

DH's little brother and his wife have asked us to be Godparents to their new little son, Jaden William.
And I finally got to hold little Darren over the weekend. He's a beautiful baby! I hope to post some pics real soon.

I love all the layered dip recipes....I'm going to copy them all! Makes me hungry for some even at this hour!

I'm waiting for the kiddies to get up so we can take them out to St. Perkins or St. Cracker Barrel!!! Don't want to be late for the readings (of the specials!!! )

Everyone is getting me hungry for nachos! Like you said Gail, I could even eat them now! I'm going to copy everyone's recipes down too. They all sounded great!

Looks like rain today and DH is supposed to take DD and DS out for swimming. I was planning on doing a lot around the house (disboards )like cleaning the rugs, dusting, and cleaning the bathroom. Yuck!

I agree....being a Godmother is a really special honor...I have 3 god sons... ages 1,3 and 13!!! Where does the time fly!

I've got my neices HS graduation party (Italian restaurant) which will be fun! I'm the offical photographer (which I enjoy) and in charge of background music (an nagel's work is never done)!

So....how are you all feeling about the scandal on the RIDDLE thread....

First thing is an outdoor pancake breakfast at DH's Aunt & Uncle's house. Then off to SIL & BIL's for a day on the pontoon! I should be around tonight!

Taco dip!!! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm.....

I had an interesting evening last night. I invited over a few of my buds and we played poker into the wee hours! Nothing serious, all in fun. The weather was nice enough that we sat out on the deck and played. We also sat out there so we could enjoy our cheap cigars! It had been YEARS since I'd played poker. What fun!

After a night like that though (my mouth tastes like old socks), I'm tempted to shake away the cobwebs...

Geesh Steph, I knew there was a reason I didn't listen to country. That first one is so true and sad.

I have a recipe I used last night. Spread 8 ounces of cream cheese on the bottom of a pie plate. Cover with a can of chili. Sprinkle grated cheese, I use the Mexican blend. Microwave until cheese melts. This is really good with tortilla chips.

Just drpping in for a quick look before I run out to the new house. Duffy did NOT win this weekend, so I was done early. Good thing too, because it is VERY hot and humid out there!

I need to share that first one with DH, Steph. He said he had trouble sleeping last night. He kept thinking about our DS growing up. It's true. I think back to when they were just babies and it was only yesterday. Now they are close to being all grown up. Makes me teary to think about it.

Sandi, glad they asked you to be godparents. What lovely honor. And I'm glad to hear that Darren is still doing well.

All the taco dip recipes are making me hungry and I can't have the tortilla chips on my diet. I just love Tex-Mex. All those lovely calories. LOL!

Sorry Duffy didn't win. Our weather has been pretty hot, too. It's getting to that time of year. Guess we need to weaken and turn on the sprinklers today.

We had a great 4th of July. Hope you all did, too. Sorry some of your celebrations got rained out. We grilled hamburgers at home and went to the local park for the fireworks in the evening.

We took DS to Lake Texoma yesterday. He is on the Provincial Youth Network for the Episcopal Church. They are putting on a conference for the youth in several states starting today and going through Thursday. DD and I will go back to pick him up on Thursday morning. It's not far. A nice trip really.

Anyway, after we dropped him off we decided to drive to the factory outlet mall in Gainsville, TX. Had a lot of fun shopping for a few hours. I got some new sheets, some t-shirts and DD and I fell into bracelet heaven! LOL! We were grabbing them up by the handfulls. Now I know that we need to make some ourselves. In fact, I picked up some beads that we can play with.

This morning we visited the other Episcopal church in our town. Actually, it's the church I attented as a young child. Our good friends have moved to town and he is the new priest there. It was his first Sunday. My family may decide it is time to make a change. We haven't been very happy the past year with our own church. But that is another (and longer) story.

Well, Miss Poppins has had a busy weekend so far. And all the layered dip recipies, there must have been quite some celebrating this weekend. And Bernie, cheap cigars and the Hair of the DOg, wow, I never knew you had it in you!

I am feeling better, now my back just aches. I have to get to the Dr. Finally got the guest room in order, got new pillows and new matterss pad today and got the bed remade. Now I just have to figure out why I can't get a plug into the new outlet I installed yesterday. I think I will have to turn off the power, loosen up all the screws, retighten them, and if that doesn't work, call the electrician.

Attention ladies (men can read if they need to), while I was out getting the new bed stuff, DH was doing manly shopping, wheel polish, etc. When I get home, he has a big bag from B & BW, he decided to buy me a few little gifts, since our anniversary was so messed up, he got me a really pretty woven basket with some warm sugared vanilla lotion, shower gel, and body splash and a net sponge in it. And a little pedicure kit (hmmm, feet must be bad) and then another little bag that had a felt heart bag inside and inside that, on Italian Charm Bracelet, with one Mickey link. To be honest, I don't like them, but since he tried so hard, I have it on. Isn't he a sweetie, after he did all the furniture moving, painting and carpeting already this weekend, then buys me some presents. Guess I'll have to keep him a few more years.

Three cheers for Pete!!! He gets mucho credit for even being aware of such bracelets....Lew wouldn't have a clue. He's definately worth keeping for a few dozen more years! I'm very glad you're starting to feel better Marsha...now get that back straightened out!

While I'm sorry that Duffy didn't win, I'm glad you weren't stuck out in the heat for too long Diane.
