I don't know if this is the right place to post this but forgive me if it's not. We have been wanting to move close to Disney for several years. My dh has an interview with Disney that we have been waiting on. Of course the interview does not start until 2 days after we get home from Florida and he has to go back to work. We know the financial part of it which is what we had hoped for. I would like more info about the benefits before he has to miss 2 extra days at work to stay for the interview. We do have a lot of factors involved. We have a dd who has 2 years of high school left, a daughter getting married next month, and we're gaining a sweet little 2 year old granddaughter through marriage. My jobs at home are stable but his job of 20 years is shutting down next year.
Anyone work for disney? Raises? Vacation time? health insurance? Set schedule? Opportunity to move from nights to days? He will be a ride technician. Disney discounts? Any information would be helpful.
Thank you:)

Pay is comparable to other jobs in the area. You could be making more at other places. About 80% of the jobs at WDW are Union represented. Some areas receive a yearly Union raise provided one is negotiated in the contract, some receiver raises based on yearly seniority in that location, some receive both. Days off and shift start times are bidded bassed on seniority yearly or every 6months, depends on location. It took me almost two years to get the preferences I wanted for scheduling, my department has less than 300 people. First year of FT employment entitles you to 40hrs of vacation per year after you complete 6months. Jumps to 80hrs a year after 2years of service. Sick leave is 40hrs a year after your first year of employment. Medical benefits are through Cigna available to FT employees after 90dsys or 6months. I don't remember which. We do receive park admissions for both the CM and a handful of guests every year. Discounts available for both Disney experiences, all around property's D as well as other local businesses in the Orlando area. Many national discounts as well.

If you would like to know more google Disney STCU and you can view the current FT contract that is produced by the multiple unions that represent WDW.
