Benefits of Purchasing one Annual Pass?

We are considering staying at the Swan again this summer (8/07). It will be 6 of us and we are requesting 2 adjoining room ($125/room).

My sister purchased an annual pass for her family of 4 trip last year and she said she saved a lot on her room - Port Orleans French Quarter. She went in March 2006.

My question: How can I determine if an annual pass would allow me to get a nice savings on my room rate - for two adjoining rooms in WDW? (she let me use her annual pass code just to look around at the annual passholder rates and I cannot tell if it would be worth it for me since the annual passholder rates are not listed that far in advance.) Does anyone know if there are any passholder discounted rate for our stay - 8/5/07 - 8/12/07???

What about discounts for the All-Star Music suites?

I'm also thinking about the dining experience card for the passholder rate of $60. I looked at the list of places for the card discounts and last year, we did eat at some of these.

What are other benefits of purchasing an annual pass - besides the most obvious - free admission into the 4 parks for a year? Do the annual passes allow you admission into the water parks too?

Please direct me to some informational websites.... Any advice is welcomed...

You can inquire and even book for the passholder rate without needing to prove you have an annual pass until you actually get to WDW. The annual pass can be purchased at check-in and I would recommend waiting until then in case a better deal comes along. If the passholder rates are great book it room only when you find it and keep checking to see if WDW offers a better rate code in the future. IF a better rate comes along cancellation for room only is very easy and very forgiving.

I was considering buying an annual pass for this past trip but when I inquired about the rates, the AAA rate was only about $30 more for the entire stay at the Polynesian than the passholder rate so it was hardly worth the expense. I thought it was a little Goofy since passholders who spend $100's should get a better rate than I did for my $50 AAA membership but there you have it.

In the end whoever has the most patience gets the best deal.
