Benefits of Annual Pass???

This maybe a dumb question, but here goes anyway. We are planning on buying an annual pass for our December trip. Is an annual pass specific only to Disney World or are there any benefits that can me applied to a future reservation on the Disney Cruise line?

In the past they have had a "passholder cruise" in January which included a discount. I wish that they would offer WDW passholders discounts to DisneyLand, but to my knowledge, they do not.
