Not sure if this is the right area to post this but if anyone has a Disney Visa and wouldn't mind giving a brief overview of the benefits. I read the Chase website but I'm curious specifically what people have used the Visa rewards for at the parks. What kinds of discounts, etc. Thanks all.

I don't have my paperwork in front of me, but it is something like this:

10%-20% off of Disney tours

At Epcot there is a private area for Visa Cardholders to meet the characters. You get a free photo with it as well.

10% off at select Disney Stores for purchases over $50 (Only one I used it at was World of Disney)

If you book it with the right company, you get 6 months zero interest financing for your trip.

Out of the park, you get 1% on all purchases. $100 in purchases = $1 in Disney Reward Dollars.

Hope this helps

Thank you Jessica!

So what does a Disney Reward Dollar buy you. How many "dollars" do you need to accumulate to get anything worth while. Trying to figure if there's any bang for my buck with the Disney Visa.

Thank you!!

You have your reward $$ moved to a card and can use them for just about anything at the parks. One reward point = $1. You can make purchases in the stores, buy your food and pay your bills at the resorts. I think there are other options for cashing out, but I always save mine for when we are a Disney. I use my Disney Visa for everything, even my utility bill. I pay it off every month so the money is truly free. This year we will have nearly $300 in rewards.

We pretty much use our visa for everything we can, instead of cash/checks, and pay it off every month. We average a trip every other year and the accumulated points buy a few of our park tickets.

Our favorite thing to do with it at the parks is the free meet 'n greet and picture in Epcot and the discount at the big Disney store in downtown.

Plus you get to pick your favorite card style, I love seeing my tink winking at me from my wallet!

:tinker:

You charge $30,000 a year on your CC?????

:scared1:

I don't think thats so hard to do. I use my cc for EVERYTHING. Gas, food, bills, daycare (12k a year alone). Plus, I just got an offer for $200 disney giftcard to open an account.

Basically $1 reward is = to $1 cash.

It isn't like you have to accumulate "X" amount of reward dollars to purchase...."Y".
You use the reward dollars same as a gift card...just like cash.

Does that make sense?

We use our reward dollars for souviner money. Some people like PP use their credit cards for everything and then pay them off every month. If you are disciplined that is a wonderful way to get stuff for free (like reward $$). And can really add up into saving on the overall vacation.

I don't use mine for everything, just specific things and pay it off each month. So I view mine as "free" money. I love to buy souviners such as T-shirts, clothes, or stuff I wouldn't normally buy with cash.

I know you asked for the benefits, but I thought I'd chime in. The main advantage of the Disney Visa is to Disney - you are forced to redeem your rewards towards Disney purchases only.

There are other cards that offer much better terms and give you better reward dollars, which you could use towards Disney or any other expense.

I have had mine for a couple of years. I don't charge exclusively on the card because we have an Amex AA miles card also. But I do charge DS before/after card every month, gas for my car, purchases that DH doesn't really need to know aboout - shoes, salon, etc... I can usually accumulate around $100 for our yearly trips. Currently I have $180 in rewards - I am thinking of buying an AP (we have three trips this year) and will probably use my reward dolllars towards the pass. I love my card - just wish I got some of the special offers that others have received with - 2x or 3x bonus points. Oddly enough, I have been getting the $200 reward card offer for a credit card lately!!! Why, I already have the card? I have been tempted to call and ask why and let them know they can send me the reward card too! I didn't get a special offer when I got my card...guess they were between specials or something!
Anyway - I think it's worth it! Oh forgot to mention - I pay my card off every month too!
Hope this helps...

Right now they're also giving me 3X the points on gas and grocery purchases for a limited time. It helps it add up much faster.

When it comes to the meet and greet do you just show them the card? Is there any other ID required, I want to make sure I have everything I need but dont want to carry around extra stuff.

You do need the card in your wallet for the special character meet n greets. They just make sure you have a Disney VISA.

Thanks for your speedy reply, I knew I'd need the card but wanted to make sure they don't need my ID as well :)

I have $439 on my card right now, but I have saved this for 2 years. If you take a trip every 2 years or so, this card is great.

I use my card for whatever I can - especially big items like health insurance and hospital bills/ doctor's visits, airline tickets. This is definitely a card that should be paid off every month! I have used my rewards dollars for special meals - tea at the Grand Floridian and the Food and Wine Festival. The 0% interest financing on packages is great plus I just love my card:). Right now I have 88 dollars to use for my next trip but hope I have 100 by the time we go! Plan to use the rewards for meals at the GF Cafe and Sanaa.

I love my Disney VISAs.....I signed up for one a few years ago when they offered a $100.00 GC after your first purchase. I use it often & pay it off every month. About a month ago I rec'd the $200 offer in the mail, after asking a few q's on this board I found out I was able to have 2. So I applied & rec'd another $200 for our upcoming trip:)

Are you serious?? :scared1: I had no idea!! I have thrown away atleast four of these offers! :confused3 Watch - now I won't get another one!

Ooh, I am going to try and sign up for another too, who could't use $200 at Disney.
Some bonus rewards really help too. I got 5X on airfare about 2 years ago and got an extra $60 on a flight I had to purchase anyway. We ended up with over $700 that trip, payed for food oop on a 4 day trip so that really helped, then used the remaining on our cruise end of the vacation. (I felt less guilty on spending $100+ on a massage therapy).
We also have other cards that I sometimes use to get a better deal on "free" $$. I have over $350 saved on a cash back card, will either use toward our weekend baseball trip or use in Disney.
