The menu was changed last week and the only food offerings are chips, guac and salsa.

Wow that is really disappointing about the lack of munchies.

I thought they've always had those 'short martini' type glasses? That's the only kind I've seen on my visits there in Dec '09 and Dec '10.

So is it a smaller glass for the same cost or more than they used to be?

Yeah, I just posted that on the review...but those 'short' glasses are the only thing I've ever had IN La Cava. The cups that look bigger are what I get when I get them to go.

I'm so bummed....just heard the Ditch no longer serves tostadas. I loved the crab ones.

It's true! Bulmarro (I LOVE that guy!!) said they just took them off the menu when I was there a week ago today...WAAAAHHHHH!!!!! We all talked to the manager about it, complained BIG time- besides the guac & salsa, they still have the shrimp- it's different now, whole, bigger shrimpies (I know, I know...an oxymoron ) and I actually liked it better.

We got our drinks in to-go cups- we were told they held 2 ounces more than the other glasses.

Also the avocado Rita has the most tequila. And that yummy mango blueberry rita they make over at La Hacienda? It's made with Mango Island Oasis....but too bad, it DOES taste sooo good!! You can get it at the Ditch, too, if you ask.

Sorry it's a little tilted- kind of representative of how I was feeling that night...

Those short glasses are not new. I've been getting them since the place opened. If you order to go you will get a taller but narrower plastic cup. At least they still have the shrimp. The guac better still be good.

The storms were so hit and miss last night... we got the lightning but very little rain... (I have to go and water all the plants later... )

We missed all the big nasty yesterday, but we have had the rain today--not happy. We may get more rain in the a.m. and then 70º tomorrow. Looking forward to the 80s and 90s on Sunday and Monday.

Posted the quickest blog update ever ... we were supposed to have our anniversary dinner last night at Stone Soup Cottage, one of STL's best new restaurants. Made the reservation three months in advance only to have them give the table away last night before we arrived.

Quick fly by post re the Ditch...we stopped in the Mexican Pavillion twice and peeked in to find two or three tables with folks. It was a far cry from the lines that used to form to get in.

Thanks Kat. In the overall scheme of things it's not really a big deal but to be treated in such a way does leave a bad a taste in your mouth. Jason said it's a sign that we need to move to Vegas!
