Bendy-Friendies V.4 ... Drinks-A-Plenty with a Side Order of Tasty Food!!!

Who here has been in June? If we go then, it would be around the 10th--is it really nasty humid??? It's then or fall break and I don't want to wait! I think crowds are about the same those two times.

I checked on spring break (March 18-26) and amazingly any ADRs we'd want were available. :confused3 But hubby said no, too soon since we just got back from Cali.

I have come to find out that I deal with crowds better than heat/humidity!

I want to join the Friendies! Will you have me???

I can be fun, I promise! And I love to cook so I can post food porn, too!

All in favor???? Say Aye!!! :yay:

Aye!
Welcome Krissalee!

Jamie, I live in FL and you do NOT want to be here in June! It is nasty humid, which makes it feel about 15 degrees hotter than it really is. The air is heavy and stagnant. It's absolutely miserable when you're in a place like Orlando where there is no ocean breeze. I don't know how all those people handle it every summer. I have to basically retreat inside in the summer, it seriously feels like I am about to melt just in the time it takes to walk from my car to the door of a grocery store.

I would really push the DH for March or wait until the fall.

I have good and really bad news to share with you guys:

The good -
The Disney Dispatch website will be running some dining reviews of mine we pilfered from my DR's here on the boards! Please check them out if you feel so inclined: http://www.disneydispatch.com/conte...-the-mouse/2011/boma-and-jiko-culinary-tours/
The first is a review of the Boma and Jiko Culinary Tour. In a few days, a Boma dinner review will go up.

The really bad -
I posted about my mom struggling with ovarian cancer a while back. Well her struggle is finally over. She died yesterday morning, January 9. I was holding her hand when she passed, as were my sister, brother, and aunt (her sister). I am so glad she is not in pain anymore but the remainder of my family now has a mammoth task of sorting out all that she left behind. The real work hasn't begun yet, so I'm not sure how much I will be around in the coming months.

I saw your post on facecrack about your mom - sorrier than I can express for your loss. :grouphug:

LOL--I would have said how much we :love::love::love: going to WDW in June! The heat is fantastic, at least to us. Give me those 90+ days with 100% humidity--just keep the rain off my Lava Flow! :cool1:

:welcome:

Heavenly day! The character meals went up again. It will be almost $90 if we indulge whogirl for breakfast at Crystal Palace (summer pricing).

Could we possibly eat that much bacon???? :rotfl:

I just loved Breakfast with Minnie at Disneyland. $55 for all three of us (10% discount) and 12 characters. Now, there's bang for your buck.

Where did you have breakfast in Disneyland? I'm going on the ABD Backstage Magic trip with the podcast crew in April and we have a few character breakfasts as part of the tour. Any places you'd suggest (any meal)? We do have a free night I think and I'll be there a couple extra days after the tour is officially over. Hope you had a great trip to Disneyland!:goodvibes

Who here has been in June? If we go then, it would be around the 10th--is it really nasty humid??? It's then or fall break and I don't want to wait! I think crowds are about the same those two times.

I've never been in June but I know what you mean about not wanting to wait.:) I'm guessing it will be pretty hot and humid at that time of year and I think there may be bigger crowds in June than in the fall. I would vote for going during fall break but my favorite time of year at WDW is Halloween and the Food and Wine Festival!

I usually go in the spring (late April/early May) but since I'm going on the ABD trip in April I just can't do that timeframe this year. So I wasn't going to go at all in the spring, then decided that I didn't think I could wait until October, so I'm going Memorial Day weekend (well, kind of a long weekend since I'll be there for 6 days). Yes, it will be crowded and hot (at leat I think it will -- I've never been at that time before), but I'll be in Disney :thumbsup2

Good luck whatever you decide!

Happy New Year Friendies! Obviously I'm running a little behind so far this year

First, Abby I just saw the news about your mom and I'm so sorry for your loss!

Jamie, Disney in June is pretty hot & humid but it's better than July & August :thumbsup2 The earlier in June the better the weather & crowds.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas & New Year! We had a really good time on our cruise and to be honest, it was really nice to not be home & dealing with the usual holiday stress & drama. The worst part was that we pulled back into port on my birthday (Jan 1) which I thought was a bad choice anyways :rolleyes1 to make it worse, I woke up with a sore throat that morning. I hoped it was just from yelling/singing at the party the night before but I knew better. Still have a bit of a cough from that lovely flu bug but I'm mostly better finally.

I'll try to get back and post pics & review of the Carnival Dream - I can say that it was good and we had plenty to eat & drink (especially the drink part) :cool1:

Anyone ever been to WDW in May? This will be our first time going in "warm" weather season, hoping it's not too hot.
