Bendy-Friendies V.4 ... Drinks-A-Plenty with a Side Order of Tasty Food!!!

One more day of work and then a lovely break before the New Year! I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Part of my vacation will be spent with my extended family and another couple of days painting. . .that latter is :headache:, but it must be done.

BTW, jalapeno infused Vodka sounds !

Mmm those looks yummy!

I don't have photos, but we ate Latkes for 'Chanamas' dinner since we missed celebrating Channukah this year. There was also roasted chicken, salad, and garlic green beans. I smell like I was swimming in the frying pan. :lmao:

We also got to enjoy a 2000 Merlot...didn't catch where it was from, but my sister-in-laws parents gave it to her and my brother to celebrate their 10th anniversary (get it, a 2000 Merlot?) which was Dec 17th.

Anyone get any good foodie gifts? My big gift this year was a Wusthof Classic Series 8" Bread Knife! Now my knife collection is complete and I have good knives of all the types I use. :goodvibes Thanks Santa!

Well it's late so I will close this with a line from a very good poem...

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

The laptop has arrived.... and the withdrawal symptoms are getting much better!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Honeys.... I'm home! Took a while, but we made it home. Kathrin's flight to Boston was canceled but she was able to get on an earlier flight. They plowed out the runway for her plane and closed Logan after they landed. Our flight only had a 40 minute delay and the drive home was only windy and a little icy. Got home about 2:00 this morning and I got up at 7:30 to drive Kristin to work. Her apartment is on a hill and I was afraid it would be very slick so I surprised her with a ride in a warm car instead of a stroll in 40 mile an hour winds on snow and ice-covered sidewalks! :teeth:

We had a good time. Not long enough for me, but I think the other 3 were ready to come home. We loved AKL CL and it will be hard to stay anywhere else, I am afraid. It was spectacular. The CMs in the lounge were so friendly and helpful and made for a very relaxing two days there. POFQ is still one of my favorite resorts. We didn't get a refurbed room there, but we love the convenience of that little resort.

Michelle - I am glad you got your laptop!! :yay:

Welcome home Elin!

Michelle - congrats on the laptop!!

I've been MIA, sick as a dog. Johnny, Kyle & I all had the worst stomach virus ever, lasted 5 freaking days! All better now!!!!!

Glad to hear everyone is feeling better.

Glad you're home safely Elin!

And Kat... everyone has a Xmas from you know where... ours was 1987... and it was all due to Thyphoid Mark... my nephew... everyone who held him (it was his first christmas) got sick... he took out 22 aunts uncles and grandparents... he didn't even sneeze...

Elin are you buried in snow? The east coast looks horrendous--that is Michigan type weather and we have hardly any snow on the ground which works for me. I hate the stuff. Nice to hear your Christmas Disney trip was a fun time. . .you all deserve a lovely vacation.

We had a nice time with family Saturday and Sunday. Today was spent painting--is there anything that is as big a downer as painting on your vacation? :confused3 I am so not a fan of that chore, but when you do paint it does inspire you to continue on and repaint other rooms. Then again, my fingers are a bit stiff so that will have to wait.

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season and that Santa was good to one and all. :yay:

I got sick the day after I came back from Disney. Seems like everyone has something right now. Glad you're better though!

I saw a quote on someone's signature I knew some of you here would appreciate:

The community board: beating a dead horse, one thread at a time.

Kat - I am so sorry you three got that horrible stomach virus. I had it after we got back from WDW in October and it is AWFUL. My students were dropping like flies the whole last week of classes and recitals. It is NOT a good way to lose weight. Take care of yourselves, my friend.

Tess - We actually dodged the bullet this time. We didn't get a lot of snow; probably only have about 3-4 inches. But we did have ice to deal with on the roads coming back from DC Sunday night/Monday morning. DD Kathrin has about 16 inches in her area of Boston. I think NJ and NYC caught the brunt of it this time, didn't they?

Enjoyed your review, but sorry you didn't enjoy the experience. I totally get the "gutworm" thing since I deal with my own from time to time. When it is acting up--nothing that goes in the body is worth it!

Happy New Year to you and Jay.

Happy New Year to my Friendies!!!!

Thank you to all of you who sent Christmas cards; I didn't get any sent before we left, but will be sending them out this week. Maybe it will counteract the "letdown" that we all get after the holidays!
