Bemused by lack of kids pizza at *this* restaurant

These limitations on the child's menu reveal a problem for those of us on the DDP with kids. At a lot of the restaurants, the child meals are so awful and limited that you're either going to be paying OOP for your child to get the pizza or burger or chicken strips he'll want, or you end up being dishonest (or whatever you call it) by using the DDP for an adult CS meal for the kid. I still haven't figured out what to do. It's not just an issue at the pizza places; Pecos Bill's is another one where the kid choices are limited and way less appealing to mine than the regular menu items, to say the least. I'm not trying to maximize scam Disney, but I would like to order something the kids will actually eat.

OK. Maybe this is naive of me... but...
Before choosing to purchase the DDP, would it not make sense to look at the menus and possible choices, and determine if the plan will be cost effective for your family or not? We did, and as a result we know that the DDP is not an option that would save our family any money--because we actually spend less on food per day paying OOP than we would have to pay for the DDP.

If your children would be unhappy with the restrictiveness of having to order from among the children's menu choices, and you know in advance that you will very likely end up paying OOP for their meals, then you can figure that added expense into the equation before deciding whether or not the meal plan may work to your advantage. If it's gonna end up costing you more (in terms of money &/or hassles due to the restrictions) in the long run, then the DDP simply may not be your best option. :confused3

I agree the limited child's menu at CS is a problem for those on the DDP (tho don't necessarily agree it's dishonest to use that credit for an adult meal). I haven't thoroughly looked over the menu for all our CS places but a few of them if I can't get an adult choice for my child (who won't eat off that CS menu at that place because of limited menu) I'm going to get the adult meal and share with my child and use the extra credit for another meal someplace else, lunch/dinner if we're still hungry or breakfast. Haven't worked out the details yet except possibly one day picking up a meal for DD at one Epcot CS and taking it to another CS in WS for mine and eating together there. Disney allows you to do this so I don't have a problem with it.

There was no kids pizza at any CS BUT in late Janu they always let the kids order it on the DDP anyway. We didn't take advantage and order them a side salad as well though we could have in theory. But just the cheese pizza was close to the kids meal price (usually 1 or 1.50 difference). My kids had pizza at Sass.Floatworks at PO,Pinn Haus, and Pizzafari. At Sass Floatworks (PO-FQ) they allowed the kids any entree at every meal (lunch and dinner) since they technically only had 2 kids meals.

:rotfl: I need 100!

This is actually the only place I would have tried to get my kiddos the adult meal...but it didn't work :( I didn't realize at the time that the card let the cashier know I had 2A2C in my party....

[nearly there, nearly there :teeth: ]

Seriously though [whilst still selfishly trying to 'up' my post count] I have read that people go to the counter twice and get 2 adult CS meals in two separate orders! We're not on the DP but I guess that would work!
