Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

No, we're going the 15th-22nd so dd will only miss 3 days of school. From what I've read here, we'll get to see Holiday Wishes when they start to show it nightly after the parties are over. The parade, too, if I'm not mistaken. I had thought about watching it from the Poly one night, too, b/c I want to try 'Ohana's. Thanks so much for the tip about the beach being crowded--I had no idea! Our last two days have me a teeny worried about the crowds overall, but I think I'll take one of those days to tour resorts and see the decorations.

The beach at the poly shouldn't be too crowded... and if it's chilly... then it will be EMPTY... bring a warm jacket with you just in case... I've had temps from the 40's to the 70's in Dec... and grab some hot chocolate at Capt. Cooks and watch the fireworks...

I'm just trying to get to 7700 posts before I go to bed.

lalalalalala .... beer!

(showoff...) :lmao::lmao::lmao:

lalalalalalala ... wine.

lalalalalalaaa ... scotch!!! :thumbsup2

Ohhhh Come ON Bendy... what are you DINKS????

Don't you remember Sesame Street???

LA LA LA LA LEMON.........

(what you add to it is all up to you... ;))

Hey guys ... I just posted the Kitchen Conversation review w/ Robert Irvine on the smelly thread.

Be warned ... it's a bitter bendy who wrote it but I had to be honest and it sucked for us!

:scared: I'll have to brace myself for that read. I was really hoping you and Lori would have a good time at that event. :sad2: Oh well... Happy 7700 posts! :thumbsup2

Hey, we'll be there 17th-28th, so maybe our paths will cross. :goodvibes

That would be cool! And I have to say YOU ARE SO BRAVE! Have you ever been over Christmas before? My SIL had told me that it didn't get crowded for them until the 23rd when they went, so imagine my surprise that it's predicted to get crowded on the 19th this year (Sunday).

Have they released the dates yet for the holiday sucharges on the buffets? Last year I think it started on the 16th.

excellent choices! although, i tend toward vodka and rum drinks, i say whatever works for ya! drink up my friend! :drinking1

My tendency as well :thumbsup2

Nice to see you over here! :goodvibes

Yes, we've been many times over Christmas and love it. We were just there this past Christmas too (with TheDISneyFamily). I will say that we get up early and make the most of the morning and late night hours to do everything we want. Christmas Eve morning we went into AK and rode EE 7 times in a row with no wait...then around 9am it started getting crowded. The crowds are crazy come late morning/early afternoon. Christmas day was cool...we went swimming. :rotfl:

As far as the buffet surcharges, you know I really don't know. The only buffet we usually do is Boma and I'll be honest in that I don't pay attention much to if there is a surcharge or not on the bill.

Well, I just booked Free Dining for Sept. 20-28, and yes indeedy,
that includes the first few days of F & W. :woohoo:

Do they still let you use snack credits for some of the booths,
or will we have to pay oop for that?

Dh and I are planning a date night.
Having a teenager who can babysit her siblings rocks! :thumbsup2

Probably not doing any signature events.

Anything else I should know??? :confused3

We used all of our snack credits our first day going booth to booth last year. :thumbsup2

Ahhh...Going booth to booth.....Happy thoughts!!!

About Epcot Food and Wine 2009, Eat to the Beat, looks like they added a few more concerts (according to Pollstar) since I last posted:

Kool and the Gang will be at WDW Oct 12 and 13
John Waite will be at WDW on Oct 29th
Billy Ocean will be at WDW Nov 3-5

Still lots of dates open, stay tuned!

Ahhhhh...it's good to see that Public Television has helped us all... :thumbsup2

cool... free dining...

DisneyMom ... your snack credits should be good for any food item sold at a F&W booth and are also good for bottled water. Should your hubby want to try all the beers at the Hops & Barley Booth, he will, sadly, have to pay out of pocket for that.

Booze no be covered by the dining plan ... it would bankrupt the company. :lmao:

Hmmmm, a date night. I would have told you to try Spoodles but since that's going to be closed ... for a non-signature dinner you could try Rose & Crown (mmmm, beer), or Beaches and Cream (yum ... No Way Jose), or Raglan Road (beerx2), or Kona (haven't had dinner there but people say it's good).

Or you could just sip and snack around Epcot. :cloud9::lovestruc

KeepMoving--I promised dd we would do Chef Mickey's this time and if I can squeeze it in before the surcharges start, the savings will buy me a Grey Goose slushie!

DisneyMom--congrats on free dining! And I vote Raglan Road for a date night. We had the best time there and some of the best food of the trip! It's not quietly romantic by any means, but definitely fun if you go late enough to see the band and the step dancer.

I don't know what's wrong with me today, I have been obsessively looking over menus already. You know those menus are gonna change by December!

And then you could take a nice romantic walk around DTD... :lovestruc

a new random topic ...

I love figure skating although I loved it much more under the 6.0 system when skaters were free to choreograph their programs in a more artistic manner.

I hate ... I loathe ... I abhor the NBC commentators for figure skating. Scott Hamilton and Sandra Bezic say the same things over and over again and don't understand the CoP and can't explain it to the viewing audience any better than I could.

I miss Dick Button and Peggy Flemming ... they were snarky and fun and informative. I miss ABC / ESPN coverage which would actually broadcast events so that fans could watch them. The only reason I can watch right now is because it's being broadcast on the Oxygen network (I didn't even know that channel was on our satellite).

If I could somehow block the pointless commentary while keeping the music I'd watch all night long.

ICK!! I tremble for the Olympic broadcast. :lmao:

I hate the new scoring system too....I can never figure it out.

I think you have to have a Phd to understand it; someone needs to publish a book ... CoP for Dummies. :rotfl2:

And it does nothing to eliminate judging bias, either.

I also think they should add a third scoring level that gives a score to skaters' costumes ... ;)

Yeah, we know about the booze. :lmao:

I'm leaning toward the sip and snack suggestion. :thumbsup2

I voted for the Raglan Road, and John said..."I don't really see the allure."
:scared1:
BEER???? Irish music???
Sigh.

That does sound nice, right? :goodvibes
