Thank you ladies for all the kind words. Looks like my mom will be going into surgery this afternoon. I have to head up to the hospital in a bit so I can see her and comfort her before she goes in. She was told it will be an easy procedure and that maybe she can go home tomorrow night or Saturday depending on how she progresses.

I'm a bit late, but thinking of you and your mom

I'm working from home now ... my car still isn't fixed even after I was told last night and then again this morning that it was. We're very unhappy with the dealership and are beginning to think that they are either a bunch or incompetents or are deliberately mucking up my car to keep their kids at summer camp or some such thing.

Not happy not happy not happy especially after dropping $1M there last night when I picked my car up.

Uh, I HATE car problems You have my sympathy and I hope it's all resolved soon

All this Vegas talk is making me hungry! There's still a chance that DH and I will make it there this year, so I'm noting all of your suggestions

The wine bar tasting would have to be Friday, we're looking at Love (and Table 10) for Thursday, not Friday. I see Double Helix will give you a wineglass if you do the Friday tasting - now I want to try to do it.

Your Friday looks to be wiiiide open unless you decide you want a show that day - we are leaving it showless on purpose for now

Then you've got the Lion King 4 PM which I think is just Saturdays and Sundays so we'd need to do that Saturday - make a reservation for your steak place about 7:30 Saturday and eat there at leisure after the show. Don't know how far out they take reservations but LK is not selling tickets for November yet.

I've been to Enoteca San Marco too! The cheese was awesome

We love our Double Helix wine glasses, not fancy, just fun. Will get a couple more when we go back. Last time we went we visited a bit with the wine rep, and then we enjoyed walking around the shop. It's not big, but they have lots of very nice wines.

There is an actual double helix bar close by, but I kind of prefer the atmosphere of the wine tasting.

So fun reading about all the trip plans and possibilities!

My DD16 has NO IDEA that we have booked Victoria & Albert's for our upcoming vacation.

She will absolutely DIE when we tell her.... but.... I want to surprise her while we are there.

We've already made up and "invitation" like a wedding invite to give her while we are there but I am trying to come up with a creative way to give it to her...

Do you guys have any ideas?

Is she a fan of any of the characters, and if so, do you have any character meals planned with them? If you do, then you could slip it to the hostess and have them arrange for the character to give it to her.

Or, if you have another meal planned that she might think of as a "special" meal, you could slip it to that hostess and have them leave it at the table. Then when she sees it, she will realize that she has an even more special meal coming.

Have you thought about asking a CM to have it delivered to the room? They could add some balloons and an autographed picture of Mickey & Minnie (or whichever character picture they happen to have) and the surprise her with a delivery while you're there.
