My older DD seems to always be the bottom of the top. She tried out for an elite Basketball team, at the recommendation of her rec coach, but didnt' make the team. She is now trying out for the elite soccer team but with so many girls trying out, I am afraid that it will end the same way as the basketball. She is good at both these sports and one of the best in her rec leagues. But I am not sure how she will handle it if she doesn't make this team, especially after not making the basketball team. It is the same way in school.
I want her to keep trying and striving for things (not only in school & sports but in life) but I am not sure how much rejections she will be able to take. How can I keep her confidence up and not have her give up? Any suggestions or advice?
