I've been reading this forum for several months and enjoyed all the different tips and opinions about WDW. So I figured I'd join up too and throw out a few opinions of my own from time to time. E.P.C.O.T. has always been my favorite and I'm going again next week. But I've never taken any of the tours. Can anyone tell me anything about the Behind The Seeds Greenhouse Tour? Thanks.

P.S. This is my first post, I'm a newbie!

Well definitely welcome to the boards!!!

Check out allearsnet.com and click on Beyond the Parks to find info about the tours available at the World. I hate to burst your bubble though, but Behind the Seeds in temporarily not being run right now because of Construction that's going on for a new attraction at the Land. Depending on when you're going though, it might be back up. Definitely check out the site above for more info!!

We have done it twice,$8 per person,we got a 15% DVC discount. It's a great backstage tour of The Land,it take's about 45 to 60 minutes for tour and you walk through the different area's.It is led by a CM on both our tour's we had a college intern leading us.Each tour is limited to 12 persons each tour. The first tour starts at 11:00.It is a very informational and interesting tour and you can ask all the quetions you want. They explain how they are growing different plant's and veggie's and how much of what they grow ends up in the kitchens at restaurants all over Disey World.::yes:: :yo-yo: :wave2:

Thankyou all, for both the warm welcome and the information. I'll check the above mentioned site. I'd like to take this tour, but if it's closed, what can you do? Thankfully it's only a two hour drive from home, so maybe next time.

The site someone mentioned earlier has info on all the tours in all the parks. We've did Behind the Seeds to see what might be offered in a backstage tour for the least cost...it was a great tour! Since it was so good, we've since done Keys to the Kingdom at MK and Yuletide Fantasy at Christmas time....both were excellent, although I must say Keys has been my favorite so far. DH and I really want to take the Hidden Treasures of Epcot tours (does World Showcase in 2 parts) but it depends if we have anyone with us next time to watch the kids for a few hours!! Can't say as I've heard anything bad about any of the tours...

Have fun!
Katie

Well I had a great time at EPCOT, as usual. I just wanted to let any of you out there, who are interested, know that indeed kandmwedding was correct and the Behind The Seeds Greenhouse Tour was shut down. No concrete time for reopening was given to me by the cm I asked. Perhaps it will be open on my next trip.

I went on the Behind the Seeds tour a couple of years ago and found it to be quite enjoyable. It was basically an extension of the information presented on the boat ride, so if you enjoyed that, you will enjoy the tour. I also had a college student as the tour guide, and she was quite knowledgeable & enthusiastic.

I think it was around $6-8 when I went. If it's open again when you visit, I say go for it. If it goes up significantly in price though, I might think twice. I don't think it's as fancy as some of the other tours available.
