The same for 1st lady. I reiterate that being demur and polite are GREAT qualities but hardly one(s) that merit admiration. The first lady ALWAYS has a chance to be her own person, heck even Barbara Bush did a decent job of this, but Laura Bush has failed miserably and is nothing more than a walk two steps behind wife...

Oh, *I* get it now....when they report about the Swift Boat Veterans, they're reporting the news.....but when they report about memos regarding GWB's less than stellar performance in the National Guard, they're biased. Silly me!

I'm sorry you can't see the difference between 250 living, identified veterans speaking their truth about Hanoi John, the self admited war criminal, and a clearly forged document blamed on a dead man, created by the DNC or Kerry himself. That was unprofessionally pushed to the head of the line by DNC co-chairman Rather.

Sure there is bashing on both sides, sure there is hatred on both sides (sadly), and there is dirty politics on both sides. The difference that I have seen here (DISboards) and in the main-stream media, is that most Liberals just won't admit that it is two-sided!

If they bash Laura Bush for being a stepford wife thats okay, but if we react to the impolite, caustic and rude public statements of Teresa Heinz Kerry, we mean old neandrathal Conservatives are anti-Woman, attacking her visciously. Sorry to tell you, in my opinion she is rude. That doesn't mean she isn't intelligent (although I have seen no proof of that), that she doesn't like dogs, or she wouldn't be a great first lady. (Oh sure, she'll build some real bridges with our allies..... You foreign leaders are all Idiots not to agree with my husband plan to .....(fill in the flip-flop -opps blank here....) plan!

So they way I see it, and your post certainly confirms it.

There are 2 Americas (KERRY IS RIGHT!!!)

1) The dirty un-washed masses of the majority.

2) The elitest ruling class (a.k.a Democrats) who for our own sake will 'guide' us from cradle to grave, after all we ARE all idiots.

I've lurked for about 2 years on the DVC board, and to be fair you are right, I am too new to the community boards to generalize all DISers. It was unfair, premature and juvenile of me and I offer an apology. I'm not sure I would admit to bias. I am trying to honestly reply to replies made to me. You know the ones stating 250+ Living veterans, who have come foward and identified themselves, and presented their concerns with Mr. Kerry, have less credability than one poorly forged document. So some frustration and anger sure, bias I'm not quite ready to admit to.

I really find it difficult to form any kind of opinion of Laura Bush as I have not seen enough of her in the last four years to formulate an opinion. It's hard to put your foot in your mouth when you never seem to open it. I personally have never had that problem!
