Before I miss it, what is this year's Zhu Zhu pet?

Squinkies fly off the shelf here the minute they come in. I was able to pick up the gumball machine, but that's it.

I saw the Disney Princess dolls and was dissapointed they are all plastic.

Pillow Pets skeeve me because they aren't in plastic and with the bedbug epidemic in stores lately, and the fact you can't really wash that thing in the washer, my DD won't be getting one. Has anyone seen them factory sealed in plastic at any of the stores? I know it sounds silly, but....

Actually if its a 'true' pillow pet you can indeed wash them and dry them.....

I got my DDs the Princess dolls.... only to have my youngest point out Ariel and say she wanted her after I bought her Aurora already.... OOpsie!!
I just hope they don't end up not being played with... I'm also getting the Cinderella carriage baby bed thingy, assuming the dolls will fit in them that is....

I got Trio blocks for my DS who is 2, they seem to be a big hit w boys..... and of course Buzz and Woody..... LOL I'm actually thinking about buyin my boys the limited edition Buzz n Woody for their room....

My dad was nice enough to hunt down every Squinkie and Zooble out there I think.... LOL

And I know the Monster High dolls are suppose to be released soon, they've been featured in the Justice catalog and I know a few girls who really like them. I don't know if either of these will be the MUST have toy.

I have been desperately seeking Monster High dolls for a month. In my area they are sold out at Target, Walmart, Toy's R Us and online. I managed to buy 2 of them Draculaura and Frankie Stein at Toys r Us a few weeks ago, however, I can't find Clawdeen Wolf and Laguna Blue anywhere. I think these may be one of the hot items for Christmas.

I'm not really a huge fan of these dolls, but my older nieces got my DH6 into them, and I am big sucker.

I'm gonna have to get Squinkees too now I guess. My DH has been pointing them out every time we go to Target. I don't want to be left high and dry come December.

Pillow pets come packaged individually, inside of a plastic bag, 2 plastic wrapped pets to a box. You could always put them in the dryer if you dont want to wash it.

I am so pathetic... I want a ladybug one for me. I think it is cute and the red/black goes with my Mickey colors. Maybe if I ask Santa really nicely and find a good coupon....[/QUOTE]

My DD decided that Santa will bring her the unicorn pillow pet and he should bring one for me too. I think Santa might bring a penguin for me. When you use the ladybug, you can feel every seam where the fur changes color. The penguin is solid black on one side and solid white on the other. He is a nice neutral color too and still goes with my Mickey stuff. Now, if they would just go on sale someplace that actually has the penguin, since I've only seen the penguins at Walmart and Walgreens. I bought a full price one just in case...

For my DD9, it's Monster High dolls. Here's the thing with me, I have never ever ever been one to run around looking for the must have toy. Never done it. In fact, I bet I could count the times on one hand that I ever paid full price for her xmas presents. It's either been from clearance sales or Black Friday. This year however....it's different. She still believes in Santa (well, she questions it a lot and I just tell her it's her choice whether or not to believe) so I'm willing to bend over backwards to have one more year of believing. Last year she was with her dad xmas morning so this year she is with me and I would love if she continued to believe this year.

Anyhoo, we were at Target over a month ago and she was showing me the Monster High display. She said she wanted them sooooo bad. They actually look kinda neat and different from the normal non-monsterous dolls. The only thing is, they only had a two pack boy and girl set. They didn't have the other 4 individual dolls that the display showed. DD told me that Santa can find anything so if he can just bring them to her. We looked the next couple of times we were there and finally one time they had 4....2 of one doll and 2 of another. That's it. I still didn't think a whole lot about it. I went back 2 days later (when DD wasn't with me) and they were all gone. Hmmmmm....I decided maybe I should get her these things and I better really start looking now because what if it's the hot xmas toy item??!! ACK! :scared1: No one had them....the 2 pack was all I could find, so I picked it up. DH had to go to KC for work so I made him stop by a Target up there...they had all of them!!!! So he got them all! :cool1: Score!!! Now santa can bring them and santa will be a hero! Last night we were there and found a random boy one that we didn't know existed (along with a few of each individual girl). I went back this morning, got the random boy one, and there is now only 1 left of 3 different girls. I keep wondering if a crap load will come in before xmas, but I wasn't going to risk it. So between those and the things I have bought over the last couple months, DD is done for xmas! :yay:

Around here for girls, the elusive hot item is Squinkies. For my younger DD, I was able to get a couple of the sets, but I am still looking for just the gumball machine, not the playset/gumball combo.
I just saw the little sets (in a cute theme container) online at Target and they'd be perfect for stocking stuffers.

My younger DD talks about the pillow pets, but we have a few of them still in great shape from when they were a big item with my older two kids, about 10-12 years ago! They are adorable and still get used a lot, so DD is ok with them, thank goodness!

As for pillow pets, Santa accidentally bought a knock off last year so we have a leopard. I have washed it with no problems over the past year. I was quite surprised my 8 yo wanted one last year, but he really likes it and uses it quite a bit. Every sleep over it was quite a hit with OTHER boys! Several of them seem to have them and use them.

This year my son, now 9, has asked for a dolphin.

someone told me today that they have Disney character pillow pets at the world, does anyone know if this is the case?

I've been following this thread because I am one of those crazy parents who waited in TRU lines at 5 a.m. every Sunday in December of last year for Zhu Zhu pets. My daughter just had a seventh birthday a few weeks ago and we took her into the store to show her all of the "hot toys". Needless to say, I am thankfully off the hook. However, she does not know that the guest closet is filled with Squinkies. We gave the small gumball machine to her three-year old sister and it has been played with for all of 10 minutes over two weeks. The plastic balls pop open and we have a hard time sealing them back up. The only thing to do with the gumball machine is drop the Squinkies down the top, get them out at the bottom and repeat the process. Very boring!

Good luck to those who are looking. I believe my items are all going back before they join the neglected Zhu Zhus in the basement!

Well, based on my hunt for the ever elusive Squinkie this past weekend (my niece requested them for her birthday), I'm going to have to go with Squinkies! I finally found some at the 4th store I went to.

plenty of Squinkie and zoobles at my local Walmart...maybe I should buy some and sell them on Ebay and sell them indDecember!

So far, I haven't seen Pillow Pets wrapped in anything. I found them at Target, Bed, Bath & Beyond and Toys R Us. It doesn't really bother me, because I assume they are washable, but I'm surprised that you say they are packaged individually. I have not seen that.

FYI, I found Squinkies in my local AC Moore craft store. I was also able to use the 40% off coupon on it, it was a bigger pack and retailed for around $15.

I am so glad DH bought the Zoobles and Squinkies when he saw them in the stores in Sept! We were able to get enough for most of the kids on our list!

I heard they were going to be it so I got the 4 now I am on the look out for the 2 new ones. My 4 month old loves them

I see you are from NJ Shoprite had them for 7.99 last week not sure how much they are this week. My neighbor got them at Toys R Us but they were more money there.

They are probably shipped to the store that way to prevent them from getting dusty and dirty. The stockers at the store would remove them from the plastic bags before putting them on display.

The only one I've seen is Pluto, and he was at DL, not WDW, but he was VERY cute. Although for those worried about knock-offs, the ones Disney sells are not the official Pillow Pet brand.

DANCE STAR MICKEY!!!!! Have you tried looking for him?

I saw them for the first time on Sunday, at Walmart. They had a set up an endcap of them.

The previous week, the endcap had been Squinkies, but they're not selling well here, so they moved them to a less prominent place.

I am kind of bummed out. My daughter was telling me she thought the pillow pets were so cute so when I was out shopping for her birthday last weekend I saw the coveted purple unicorn so I snatched it up. I planned on saving it for Christmas until later that day she was on the pillow pet website and I casually mentioned how hard the purple unicorn is to find and maybe she should ask Santa for it. Her reply? Nah...I don't really want that one.

URGH! So now I have a "coveted" purple unicorn that is still sitting in my closet waiting for me to decide what to do. Poor thing...lol
