Around here, Sing-a-Ma-Jigs are selling out frequently. My eighteen-month old--and my husband--love them!

I got one on a whim for my niece and now you can't find them anywhere! They're HILARIOUS! I could play with that thing all day

I bought two Pillow Pets, one for each of my DD's Unicorn for older DD which she REALLY wanted and a Bumble Bee for my lil one. I bought them the very first day the shipment arrived at my local Walgreens, next day they were all sold out

Had my DGD 4 in Wal Mart a couple of weeks ago. She chose a Zooble over the Zhu-Zhu pet and she's been begging for a Zhu-Zhu for almost a year. The Zoobles are very cute.

As the mother of two boys.....they keep asking and asking for PAPER JAMZ!!! The worker at Toys R Us says they are selling like hotcakes and I went ahead and picked up the guitar and a strap for each of my sons while I could and while they were on sale.

DD's becoming a tween so it's starting to be less about toys and more about video games, and her birthday falls a week after christmas so we end up buying for both at once, then dividing the gifts up: this year we are debating on:

DD bought her first toy with her allowance tonight, a Zooble. I guess different stores are carrying different ones? It seemed Walmarts were blue and yellow (Santa :cough: got 2) and Target had all pink ones. She is 3.5 and is currently sleeping with some kind of pink rabbit looking thing.

On the pillow pets, all I see are bees and ladybugs. Where do you find the others?

Online, if you can't find them at drug stores or WalMart. Our Walmart only has bees, lady bugs, and unicorns.

What about the new Disney Princess & Me dolls? I don't have kids...just saw them and thought, "that's what I would want." It looks like Disney's answer to the American Girls dolls. You can buy more outfits for them, matching outfits for your child, and assorted accessories...even a canopy bed! And toys r us has a special right now; if you buy a doll, you get a doll nightgown for free.

My DD 3 1/2 wants a purple unicorn pillow pet. My friend's son tried out a puppy to see if Megan would like it while I was visiting without her for the weekend. When I left and "took it home with me" for my DD, he was heartbroken and cried hysterically when he realized it was gone at bedtime. It's a good thing the puppy never actually left his house (his mom wanted to see if he would use it and was saving it for Christmas). I hid it in her closet before I left so she could wrap it up for Christmas. She was the hero of the day with TONS of "Thank you Mom" when she pulled it back out and gave him one of his own. I hear it is named "Max" and he has slept with it every night since getting it.

My DD wanted it immediately at the store when she saw the purple unicorn pillow pet. I told her she could put it on her Christmas list. She was willing to hug it and put it back and tell it she would put it on her Christmas list. When she wasn't looking, I pulled the hang tag off the one she hugged (the thing with the bar code) and tossed it down the belt of the aisle next to me. The cashier was pretty quick to get the idea (she'd seen me toss it), rang up the tag, and then went to bag it at the other register. I knew they were a little difficult to find, so I didn't want to risk not being able to find another one. It was an added bonus that she picked the purple and pink one since her bedding is Princesses with those colors in it and it will match her bedroom nicely.

I was a little nervous when we saw another display later that had more animal choices (the first display only had the ladybug, puppy, bee and unicorn and the later one also had a panda, penguin, and whale), but she was still adamant that she wants a purple unicorn. While she is in school tomorrow, I will pull it out of it's hiding spot in the van and move it to the house to wait for Christmas.

I am so pathetic... I want a ladybug one for me. I think it is cute and the red/black goes with my Mickey colors. Maybe if I ask Santa really nicely and find a good coupon....

My DD raided her piggy bank to buy a toy for the first time this week as well. She REALLY wanted a plush Jasmine doll (but they don't sell them anymore at the Disney store unless you want one that is 2 1/2 feet tall and I don't want to store that). I suggested putting it on her Christmas list (with the purple unicorn pillow pet), but she was insistent that she wanted to get it now and she would spend her piggy bank money. I finally found her one on ebay. It was $20 We counted her piggy bank to see if she had enough. I made it look like as much money as possible (using all her small change to make a huge pile of money she'd have to spend) and she said that was okay and she really wanted to spend it on the doll.

I put off buying it (the seller had four of them and at $20 each, I didn't figure they'd be flying off the shelves). Thankfully, I found a much more reasonable auction for the same doll. $4 + $4 shipping was a much better price than $20. She will be so excited to get her soft Jasmine doll. Now, I just need to find a 16" Belle doll so she'll have all of the Princesses.

I had to laugh when I read this! When I saw them at TRU, that is just what I thought - I want one! But unfortunately, my DD would not want one. Oh sure, she would take it, but I don't think she would play with it, so I can't justify the cost.


I also saw the Monster High dolls at TRU...what is Monster High? Is it based on a show or anything, or just a new line of toys?

New line of toys from Mattel. DD got 2 earlier this month at her birthday party. She loves them. I am less than thrilled with them for the follow reasons : these dolls look really "slutty" and the fact that the arms come off (suppose to do this) is a super pain- already spent 2 days playing find the arm!

slutty??? have you seen barbie? moxie? and *GULP* bratz??
the dolls are a lil "alternative" i suppose, but hey so am i, id rather my lil girl play with these than bratz any day.

My 6 (almost 7) year old niece is asking for the squinkies and zhu zhu pets for her upcoming birthday.
