Both these shows say parental discretion advised. How bad are they? My kids are 10 and 8. When we were there 3 years ago we passed on them since we only had 1 day at each park. This year we will have 6 days so will have plenty of time to see them. Should we? I should say my kids are used to the gory stuff, they love mummy. I am more worried about the adult content.

I wouldn't miss either one. The parental advisory is over pushup bras for the women in Beetlejuice and fake blood at the horror makeup show.

The horror makeup show features severed limbs, lots of blood, knives "cutting" flesh, potentially frightening monsters, etc.

Never done Beetlejuice, can't help with that one.

I went to both of these when I was 10, and my brother was 8 so same ages as your will be. We both loved them!

I never cared for Beetlejuice but really like the Horror Makeup show...that show is a riot!

My son has seen the Horor Makeup show plenty of time since 4 years old and he is now almost 7. He really has no problem with it and loves the show. There are some really funny parts in the show.

As for the Beetlejuice Show have seen it twice, once when it first opened years ago and tried it again this past February. Both times did not care for it at all.

Both should be done at least once. The "cast" that does Bettlejuice has changed over the years and some have been better than others. Even if you saw it a year ago, the cast has changed and probably some of the songs have as well. The cast on stage is what makes it or breaks it:cool2:

i took my boys when they were younger than the op's children to both shows.

we love horror make up show!!
see it more than once each trip.

beetlejuice has changed the songs around on some years.
no matter what, the group that preforms there have great voices and worth to see it at least once.

Thank you for all the replies, we will definately try them both this trip. We are looking forward to a relaxing pace this trip since we are staying onsite. Our last trip was too rushed with only 1 day at each park.

We just got back and saw the Beetlejuice show every day and the Horror Make-up Show at least once a day (and sometimes twice). We really like both of them.

I like both. But prefer Make-Up Show cause the way they improvise.Everytime is diff with this show.
Not to many spoilers but the only thing scary about the Horror Show is the fake blood and movie clips of the way Universal started the horror movie making buissness!!:thumbsup2

I don't see a problem with either show for you.

Makeup show is hilarious. We laughed so hard at one part in that show, but I don't want to give it away:lmao: If they like the mummy movie, they'll be fine at this show.

i dont care for the beetlejuice show..i find it too loud..and not that into people just singing some cover songs..i can understand disney characters singing classic disney movie songs but this was different..when i saw it was hey ya and other forgettable annoying songs..

i like the horror make up.. its adult..shows a lot of gory stuff on video screens and lots of adult humor.. the only thing i had a problem with was the bra.. i thought that was a little over the top and not necessary..

Make up show was one of the funniest shows I've seen in a park.:thumbsup2 Went to Beetlejuice this year it was OK...worth doing once. Don't know if I'll go again.:)

Might bring my 7 and 12 year olds to the makeup show next month.. thanks!
