I am getting into my organization mode and feel there is a need to organize this event to prevent total chaos, so my plan is to PM people who have expressed an interest in this activity with our rally time, rallying point, and other pertinent information in order to prevent certain undesirables we all know from crashing this historic event.

Al - you mentioned a time when you could be at Epcot in another post but I am too lazy to look it up. Please post on this thread when that time is. This is critical for my planning purposes.

More specifics as they develope. As stated previously, I will PM the rally point and rally time. No prisoners will be taken. If anyone is afraid they will be left out, just post your interest on this thread and I will be sure you get the info.

Drive on!

Rick and I are interested.

:-)

Jim, you can count me in when planning your operation. I am available at whatever hour you decide. However, the same may not be true of some of my company, as they tend to "sleep in". I will do my best to rally our troops as early as possible, SIR! (saluting)

Here is a tentative list of available beers and locations at the F&WF as provided by Disney. Some is a bit ambiguous since they did not provide a listing of beers that will be available at the walk about.

Thailand - Singha Beer

Ireland - Guinness Draught

Morocco - Casa Beer

Mexico - Dos Equis

Canada - Moosehead

Germany - Becks Pilsner and Oktoberfest

India - Kingfisher Premium Lager

Louisianna - Abita Amber and Abita Purple Haze

China - Tsing Tao Beer

Japan - Kirin Draft

The Brewer's Collection (between Morocco and France)- "a wide selection of beer"

Hops and Barley (also between Morocco and France - maybe the same place)- a large selection of Sam Adams beers - don't poopoo this list, since some of them sound interesting and aren't readily available throughout the US.

The Mouse Catch - Heinie - how original

Walk Abouts: Beer Hop at the American Adventure - Buy a passport and sip amazing ales, lagers and craft beers from the best domestic and international brewers - that's Disney's description, not mine - may be interesting, may be crap.

If anybody can add to this list, feel free to do so.

If anyone is interested in getting intellectual about all this, there is a seminar offered at the American pavilion sponsored by Sam Adams called the History of Beer in America, to be given at 12:30, 1:15, 2:05, 3:35, 4:45 and 6:05. I think this would be better given by a brewery like Yuengling (the oldest brewery in America), but Disney did not consult with me on this.

Disney's list is 23 varieties of beer not including anything on the Walk About or in the seminar. Obviously, this is a huge quantity of beer and it is going to be impossible to taste everything, so we are going to have to meter consumption. I mean, if the objective is to get toasted, we can do that at home with a couple cases of cheap crap for a lot less money. Our mission is to taste as many different types of international beers as possible for the cultural benefits. So look over the list and see what you want to try individually. I am bringing some small (maybe 3 oz.) plastic cups which can be distributed to everybody. This will allow us to buy a beer and divide it between 2 or 3 people, not only allowing each individual to taste more varieties, but also bringing down the cost (everybody knows Disney isn't exactly the cheapest bar around).

Personally, I am going to pass on the ones I can get anytime around home like Dos Equis (which I don't like anyway), Heinie, Moosehead (sorry Al).

The list of Sam Adams beers available at the Hops and Barley is: Boston Lager, Boston Ale, Octoberfest, Cherry Wheat (one of my favs), 14th Anniversary Festival Beer, Light, Cream Stout, Pale Ale, Honey Porter and Black Lager. The first 5 are drafts, the last 5 aren't (bottles????).

Jim, I make a motion to vote you as our fearless leader of Batwit. You, my friend, have done much research on this! All hail the chief of Batwit!!!! :worship:

Just don't want this to turn into a Charlie Foxtrot. My goal is to maximize everybody's experience.

"BATWIT".....how fitting!!! Um...I wanna be included!!!!

 I would like to be included in the batwit sir! I volunteer my ECV basket to hold the cups, and if someone brings a flag, we can duct tape that sucker to it and I can be flag bearer!

Would you please count Denise, myself, and most likely my son to be in the batwit,

My Rick will have an ECV also, so there will be plenty of basket space for lots of cups!!!

Awesome, we can drag race... or would that be drunk race???? I wonder if we can get an EUI, or would that be SUI??? :lmao:

SHUT UP AND STOP SUCKING UP!:rotfl2:

addie and i will be there so we can take pictures, point and laugh.

Depending on the time my Wife and I would be interested. My better half will already be at the Fort but I have to work and will be coming up early afternoon. So, like I said, depends on if this is a day thing or an early evening into the night thing.

Steve & Michael....why arent you guys on facebook????

Gee, Steve, I didn't think you would be interested since you don't really like beer. We will most likely be getting started in the afternoon, but I suspect this will last a while and there is no reason we can't rondevous somewhere later. I have posted my cell phone number on John's site and if you can't make the initial formation, I will leave the cell on and we can coordinate later.

I am compiling a list of interested people. When I complete this, I will post it (perhaps on a separate thread to keep this one from getting too bogged down) and people can add their names if they were inadvertently left off. Believe me, I don't want to leave anyone out of this and if I don't list you, it is an oversight - not intentional by any means.
