Beer of the Month Club

Has anybody ever bought anything from any of these type of clubs? I'm looking to purchase one for my husband for Christmas, but they are expensive. Are they worth the money? My other thought is to purchase him a beer making kit. Anybody have any insight on these?

We used Beer on the Wall for Father In-laws b-day.
You can choose 3 shipments & delivered every other month
to last ½ the year. You can also choose as low as 2 shipments,
and you don’t even need to pay the total up front,
they’ll charge you as each shipment goes out.

So far Fil has just received his 1st shipment,
we did the 6 pack. I forget ~ something like an apricot,
(never would have picked it in a million years)
but that’s the perfect part of a gift.
Said they had some sausage sandwiches w/ peppers and
Loved the beer!!! They can’t wait to see what comes next!

I used to buy this for DH but then it got so expensive. The microbrews were getting more easy to find around here so I just decided to give him a "certificate" for Beers of the month and every 1st Saturday of the Month he gets 2 new 6 packs. Comes out less than half of what I was being charged by beer of the month- and really to him no difference since I was opening them and putting them in the fridge anyway before he got home.

We brew our own beer but it does take time and effort. You need to keep everything sterile and cook the brew. I think a beer certificate would be a lot easier.

We've been homebrewing for our entire married life, and I also got DH beer-of-the-month a few years back (not in the budget now). It IS pricey but we did every other month and it was nice to have. Now we have Stew Leonard's and Total Wine & Beer nearby so we just get things there. If you are not near a good beer place it's great to have!

Unless things have changed recently just be sure how it is being sent and where. My neighbor got this for her DH but they both work and the delivery service was not allowed to leave it on the porch and someone over 21 had to sign for it. So she either ended up going to the facility to pick it up or if I or another neighbor was home we had to sign for it and then take it over to them.
