Beer Mugs

My husband got a beer mug on our Wish cruise last summer - this mug is very different than the mugs has gotten on the Fantasy and Wonder. Are the ships going to start having their own mugs? We are on the Magic in 4 weeks and I am trying to decide whether to pre-order him a mug. If it's a Magic specific mug I definitely want to get him one. We have pre-ordered in the past however, can you get the same price for the mug if we want until we board?

When we were on the Wish in January, the mug had reverted to the same design as available on the other four ships, so I do not think they are moving to a ship-specific design. I already have two glass and one blue plastic versions of the design available on the other ships, so I was hoping to get the new Wish design when we sailed. No luck, sold out and not restocked, at least by mid-January. I do now have a new style mug card from the Wish as well as an old style card from prior cruises.

Mug price is the same whether pre-ordered or purchased once on board.

If you don't mind me piggy-backing on this, can I ask a general question about the mugs? While you're on the ship, do you bring the mug with you when you want to use it, or do they give you a card/token to use during the sailing? I like the idea, but also don't want to have to lug around a big mug or go back to the room to get it if I want a beer

Yep! We were on the Fantasy in Nov and I used the card- when i was done with my beer, I just turned it back in for the card again so I wasn't lugging the big mug around.

We have two glass mugs but we have no intention of taking up the space and weight in our suitcase for it.

The Wish had both card styles in December when we were on. And the original mug.

Glad they are accepting both cards on the Wish now. In August they would only accept the Wish specific one.

Add the 18% autogratuity, even if ordering online. Also, you will be charged tax if ordering online, so the mug is actually more expensive than when purchased onboard, since no sales tax charged at sea.

You get a token to prove that you have bought into the deal so you don't have to carry the mug around with you.

I think the price is the same; you just get more beer for that same price with the mug (the pour is larger with the mug than without)
