I miss the ole DIS budget board. I hope that everyone is doing well!! :) I have a question and am hoping someone can assist me or redirect me to a site that can answer my question. My husband is currently deployed in the Army...does Disney offer any specials for the military or their spouses? TIA!!

Not sure how to post a link, but if you go to the disneyworld site and put military in the search box, it will bring up a page that includes the military discounts.

There are discounts on rooms ....
Save up to 40% at select Disney Resorts for Members of the U.S. Military
Special savings on select Walt Disney World Resort hotels! Active and retired U.S. military personnel can take up to 40% off when booking travel dates prior to September 28, 2011.

and on tickets ...
Walt Disney World Resort is saluting U.S. military personnel by offering 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets which include a Park Hopper or Water Parks, Fun & More Option for just $138 each, now through September 28, 2011. For just $27 more, both the Park Hopper and Water Parks, Fun & More option may be added.

Hope that helps. And thanks to your DH and his service (as well as your sacrifice).

Don't forget about the Shades of Green Disney Resort. It is a resort on Disney property that is just for active and retired military and their families. Really good prices...I think.

Thank you to your husband and family for your sacrifices and service. :thumbsup2

Yup, check out Shades of Green. They also have a military appreciation special going on... let me see if I can find the link. Thought I read somewhere that a 4 day pass was somewhere ~ $138/adult.

Hang on.

Found it!

Here you go!

Click on Military & Civil Service Discounts and it will take you right to it.

I just read this also if you are interested in Shades of Green in the fall ...

Those who are eligible to stay at Shades of Green, the US Armed Forces-operated resort located near Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, can receive up to 50% off room reservations from August 15 to October 31 (blackout dates apply).

Thank you so much for all the info everyone! Yeah, I was looking for perhaps just a one day pass to do Epcot. My oldest son and I are taking a trip down to Florida the 3rd week of this month. Since I am pretty pregnant, I am limited in what I can do so I figure Epcot would be a good choice as it doesn't have a ton of rides and stuff. Again, thanks for the info.
And thank you for all your "thank yous"...we got pregnant this summer with our first baby and got married in August. He was deployed in September =( We only had 3 weeks notice for his deployment which totally sucks, but it is what it is. And I'm just trying to be strong and do the best I can around the house. Again, thank you.

We are here for you and your family...well as much as we can be. ;) You can vent to us or just ask us for thoughts and prayers. :thumbsup2

You should check out Armed Forces Vacation Club (afvc.com) for condos. Last summer, we stayed in a two bedroom condo with a full kitchen for a week for $329. We were about 3 minutes from Animal Kingdom, and the resort had two beautiful pools, free movies, etc. Combined with the tickets, we enjoyed a very lengthy, pretty inexpensive vacation! We added the Water Park option and did 3 days at water parks, plus 1 day at Quest. It was a very relaxing vacation.

Thank you! Yeah, hubby was saying that when he returns home for good, he'd like to take a vacation and was thinking of looking into that Club. For this trip, I've already rented a room---just a simple room at the Red Roof Inn in Kissimmee. Got it for like $129 for the week through Expedia. Nothing fancy, but it's just oldest DS and myself. We are going to do Seaworld--get in for free with my military spouse ID. And we are going to do a day at Downtown Disney just browsing and whatever. If weather permits, perhaps a pool day or two. We are also meeting up with my BFF who lives about an hour from there. And Epcot for a day. Pretty laid back, which is what I need right about now between DH being gone, being very pregnant, and holding up the house by myself. A getaway will be nice. :cloud9:

Yoy should look up vettechick on here. She did Disney pregnant not too long ago. Pretty sure she did a TR that may be of help.

I'm only doing one day of a Disney park---we are only going to do Epcot.
