Day 15 Thursday 25th August 2011-The Voyage home.
Our final day usually consists of Chef Mickeys breakfast followed by a full loop on the monorail folowed by final packing checking out and then catching an early bus to the airport. After we check in we usually spend a few hours looking around the airport.
Virgin usually do our pick up time very late around 4pm and we dont thing that is enough time to get to the airport and check in, go through security and eat. However they gave us a time of around 3pm and the flight was a bit later this time. We did think about changing it but went with it. It gave us time to actually do something today rather than it all be about going home.
Matt went to reception first as when our final bill was sent to our room we'd been charge for some drinks from WCC and our evening meal at Chef Mickeys. Even though we'd paid cash theyd also charged our room. Luckily we had all the receipts, so Matt took them to the reception and the charges were refunded.
We then started the day in one of the best ways- Breakfast at Chef Mickeys.
We used the last of our table service credits here.
Luke always likes to tell the characters we are going home and says bye bye to them.

Once we had finished breakfast, we went to our room to have one last look around, before finishing off any packing and checking out.
We got bell services to look after our luggage.

We were going to look around MK today but we decided to pop to Epcot first, so we could try and get on test track again. Just as we got to Epcot it started to pour down with rain, so we decided not to bother. However you have to get off the monorail and go through the bag check before you can get on the monorail again. when we got to the TTC we caught the express monorail to Epcot, we wanted to see what it was like going on the monorail the 'wrong way' It wasnt that much different.
When we got to MK we decided to do a full loop on the train.

We then decided to do a few rides before having some lunch. we got 3 hot dog meals even though we werent that hungry.
It was mainly for the drinks, and hotdogs. We got the popcorn so we could have them another time. We still had a couple of counter service credits left, so didnt do too bad over all.

Afterwards we had another look in the shops, they had started to stock up the halloween products.
We then headed to our hotel to take a few final photos before waiting for the bus.

I was surprised as Magical Express picked us up, I guess Virgin use them at times.

We checked in ok and managed to keep the seat we'd chosen-the same as on the outbound flight. We were also informed that there would be an hour delay on our flight.
This gave us enough time to look around the airport. We decided to grab drinks and a quick something to eat before heading to the gate. We were actually pre-boarded! It was a lot easier to get to our seats without everyone in the way.
The flight was non eventful, Matt slept pretty much the whole way home. Luke had some dinner and slept a lot of the time while I watched a few films.
When we landed we called for the hotel shuttle to pick us up, the journey to the hotel was much easier than before as we were the only ones in the car. The driver also put the wheelchair in the boot which was a lot better.
The drivers have been fab each time on our retun journey each year as they take us right to where the car is parked. This time as i left the disabled badge in the window, my car was parked right by the reception.
Matt drove home, even though he had slept most of the flight I usually make him stop after an hour just for a quick break and a chance to stretch our legs.
Finally we arrived home after a wonderful holiday.

Afterthoughts........................
V-Room, it was nice but not sure its something we'd pay for again.
Virgin holidays- Had a few problems but they were the cheapest for what we chose. we will still look into other companies for our next trip to Walt Disney World.
Virgin atlantic-enjoyed the new planes and entertainment. Although the flights were a lot bumpier, perhaps as we were sitting at the back this time. service was great, cant wait until they update all the 747's
Universal-loved staying at a hotel and it was so much easier for us. Would have been better to stay for a couple of days, that way we can enjoy the hotel more. Perhaps we should try and do a split stay next time. Enjoyed the Harry Potter theming, If it gets extended and a few more rides added im sure it will be even more amazing.
Disney-brilliant as always, made our holiday by upgrading us. Only problem now is-can we go back? May have to book the tower in future.
DDP-It was fab seeing it was free, however its not for us. The desserts at each meal were too much esp as I prefer to order starters. There were also a lot of times where we only really wanted a drink but ordered a meal due to the amount of credits left. Also at breakfast we started using the counter credits for cheap value things as we had way too many left.
We share a lot of counter meals, so would save a lot more. Mind you Luke is growing so things may change in the future but still dont think we'd ever buy the dining plan. We also had a few too many table service meals, although this was handy in August.

We enjoyed most of the restaurants, will make sure we dont plan a meal on our first evening-unless its a counter service.
I think we will skip the water parks next time and just do more swimming in the hotel pool.
I enjoyed doing a park on our last day too, usually its a depressing day as its all about going home. It was a nice change to experience a last bit of Disney magic.

Whats next ?
Well we're hopefully off to Perth Australia next year, to see my brother and his girlfriend. it all depends on if we can save up enough pennies for it.
We'd also like to do a cruise after that-Matt wants to do an Alaskan cruise, with a stay in Disneyland California.
Although I think we will miss WDW too much and may do that after Australia.
Thanks to anyone who reads my reports. I know I moan a lot in them but I like to give the full picture, and it helps us when we plan our next trip.

Enjoyed your reports and it is great to read about it wats and all - thanks for doing them all :goodvibes

Enjoyed reading all about your holiday :goodvibes hope you get to Perth this year. DH's brother has lived out there for the last 7 years but I think any visit we make will have to wait until all the girls are off our hands.

I've only read this last day so now I will go and find your TR's from the beginning. I loved the ending so can't wait to read the beginning and the middle now. I appreciate your honesty about the DDP - we usually stay off site in a villa but I've been sorely tempted by staying on site with DDP (but with a wasitline like mine I can't be getting extra food just for the sake of it!).
