Bed Height

We are taking my disabled father to DW in a couple weeks. We are staying at the BC and have booked a HA room for him. He has a hospital bed at home but can get into a regular bed if it is low enough for him. Does anyone know what the bed heights are or at least if they are lower than the beds in the regular rooms?

Bed heights are inconsistent because, up until recently, there were no guidelines for bed heights. Even in the same resort, different rooms can be at different heights.

If the bed is too high, there are a couple of options.
One thing people have done is contact Housekeeping and ask them to lower the bed. One way they do that at times is by removing the bedfrme and leaving the box spring and mattress sitting on the floor.
Another thing is to actually rent a hospital bed for your stay. You can arrange it through Special Reservations or by renting fom a company on your on. You can find more about renting equipment in post 2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread. That thread is near the op of this board or you can follow the link in my signature.
There is also a post about room/resort accommodations, which has the phone number or Special Reservations.
In either case, the resort will work with a rental company to get he equipment into your room before you arrive. They will move or remove any furniture they need to make room for the bed.

I have only stayed on the villas side at BC, but the HA rooms there have beds much lower than the regular ones. If you get there and the bed is not appropriate, call engineering and they will provide him with what he needs, even if they need to swap beds. In my case the bed was too low and they worked with me to fix the height the other way.---Kathy

We have stayed at the Caribbean Beach three times each time in a different island named area. We always had a lowered bed in the roll-in shower rooms. When I asked to make sure we got a lowered bed, I was told all the roll-in shower rooms have low beds. You have to ask to have them raised.
Have fun!
