I am wondering if those who've stayed at Candy Cane Inn and/or Disneyland Hotel could tell me whether the beds were soft or firm. I prefer firm beds but can manage with a medium firmness bed but am worried I'll book one of these hotels and the beds will be super soft and hurt my back. Thanks for the feedback 😀

I have back problems, too, so I like a firmer bed.

Candy Cane Inn just refurbished their hotel, so I imagine the mattresses are on the newer side. When I stayed there a number of years ago the beds were very soft and uncomfortable, but I bet that's changed after the refurb.

I sleep great at Disneyland Hotel and have never had an issue with their beds.

It's really so hard to tell though because beds must vary from room to room at any hotel. For instance, at the Grand Californian last summer the queen beds were too soft so I slept on the daybed, but the beds at Best Western Anaheim Plus were great.

Hi Dani090,
I have always found that it matters which tower of Disneyland Hotel you stay at that has the most comfortable beds. When my family first began staying there in 1998 we were put in the Bonita Tower and we found the beds were too hard and uncomfortable and I don't know what mattresses they had but it was uncomfortable. But when we stayed in the Marina and Sierra Towers we were surprised at the beds and they were like sleeping on a cloud and it looked like they put very fancy mattresses and not only were the beds comfortable I was also impressed by the pillows because they were very soft and it was like falling onto a cloud when you laid down on those pillows. My dad loved these mattresses so much that he wanted to buy one just like it for my parents room

Candy Cane Inn mattresses were firm and comfortable when I stayed last year. The refurb is great!
That's great to hear they were firm after the remodel! Did you have a standard or deluxe room? I'm trying to decide if the standard room would be too small or not( (e.g. enough space for luggage)

We stayed in the Fantasy Tower last November, in a corner room with a king bed, either on the same floor as the club or one floor up, I can’t quite recall. We had a gorgeous view of DCA. The mattress was so soft we laughed. DH slept fine but I had a terrible time all 4 nights. I prefer a firm mattress, and I detest memory foam mattress and toppers. We added on a night at the GCH and I was much happier with the queen mattresses in our room.

We had a deluxe. We tucked our luggage around the corner in the bathroom area opposite the microwave. We had a lot of luggage by the end! It all fit there with a bit of stacking.

How many are in your party? I haven't been since they refurbished, but I don't think the room sizes have changed. Just wanted to say that the standard room seemed very tight on space. I went with my adult daughter and there just wasn't much room. I'd definitely go with the deluxe unless it's just you.

I slept comfortable at both candy cane after refurb and Frontier tower at Disneyland Hotel. I would say they were in the softer side but not super soft. They felt similar to my mattress which is a foam firm with soft top mattress. Hope that helps.

We stayed at Candy Cane Inn about 6 months ago. I like a firmer mattress but with a nice pillowy top. I can't say the technical rating of the mattress but I do remember they felt great to me.
