This will be the last full day of the trip and the last day of M&M. Bill and I talk about it a lot because this is the day when we get to go to Bay Lake Tower, see a grand villa, and brunch at the Top of the world Lounge. This is so NOT US. I read about other people doing this stuff. I fear I will really feel out of place. We also tour the Cinderella Castle Suite :cloud9:. We still cannot believe this. Here is their plan for that day:

Taken from the D23 website: Sunday morning you will wake up to mix and mingle over brunch at the stunning Top of the World Lounge high above Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The Lounge, which offers a spectacular view of the Magic Kingdom Park, is usually reserved for Disney Vacation Club Members staying at Bay Lake Tower, but our friends at the Disney Vacation Club are opening it up just for you. Enjoy an inside look at this breathtaking building and even tour a Grand Villa, one of the most stunning suites at the Walt Disney World Resort!

After brunch, D23 Members will enjoy a very "suite" treat — exclusive tours of the stunning Dream Suite inside Cinderella Castle, high above Fantasyland. The suite is not open to the general public, so this will truly be a magical moment.

Come nightfall, celebrate together at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and relax at D23's private hospitality lounge on board the Liberty Belle steamboat for holiday treats, cocoa and cider. You'll also enjoy reserved viewing of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade and the holiday fireworks extravaganza — Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season. And, of course, it wouldn't be a D23 event without a few seasonal surprises to commemorate the weekend!

The official itinerary that we were sent says:

Sunday December 12

10:00am-11:45am: Brunch at The Top of the World Lounge, Disney’s Contemporary Resort/Bay Lake Tower. Bay Lake Tower DVC units available for member tours
12:30pm–9:00pm: Cinderella Castle Suite Tours :thumbsup2
7:00pm-12:00am: Hospitality location Liberty Belle River boat during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
8:15pm: Reserved viewing location for Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade near Diamond Horseshoe
9:00pm: Reserved viewing location for Holiday Wishes fireworks in Rose Garden
Midnight: End of Event.

Now, I am a little upset with WDW and D23 on the itinerary for this day :sad2:. They left out the part where they are going to tell Bill and me that we get to spend the night in the castle and be the Grand Marshals for the parade that day :rotfl:. SILLY DISNEY forgetting to put that in.

I am curious about the “seasonal surprises”. I have to make sure to have a notebook with me to keep notes about everything that happens. Bill bought another battery for the camera. He knew I would be heartbroken if I ran out of battery life during this event.

I think Bill and I will drag out this last night for as long as we can before we go back to Pop Century to sleep. I knew we will do our annual fudge buying before we leave, Bill always gets fudge the day before we leave WDW.

Next installment… going back to reality

Sounds like an absolutely amazing day!! You better not run out of camera battery!!! I cannot wait to see the pics you get!!!

I'm stil lwaiting for Disney to call my house and tell me I'm supposed to be stayig in the suite too. LOL!
Onegirl I follow here on Dis did the Magic and Merrimentthing last year. She had great pictures.

Dining:

- Boma 9:45am (never have done breakfast here but heard great things)
- T-Rex DTD 3:30pm (Bill’s manly “I have to try this” ADR)
- Ohana 9:05pm (Only time I could get after all the resort/ADR changes we have made over the months)

You guys will probably be happy that there is such a long time between your lunch and supper ressies. Portions at T-Rex are HUGE!!!! We just loved it, too...

I'm all caught up with your PTR now, and am really getting excited for you guys! This just sounds like SO much fun. I'll really be looking forward to your Trip Report!!

That is so cute! Love it!

Wow, the Magic & Merriment sounds fantastic! What an experience! I cannot wait to see all your pictures and hear about it. Oh, and when you do get picked to stay at the suite, make sure you mention you may have one or two friends that will visit while you're there! ;) :rotfl:

I just read your last several updates....that D23 event sounds amazing!!! It's going to be incredible! I can't wait to read your TR all about it!

I also read your update about the problems with the wheelchairs at Epcot-is it only at Epcot that people are having problems? That is just awful. :sad2: I sure hope this is NOT the norm!

I hope my TR does it justice.

As for the issues at Epcot here is what I posted on the disABILITIES board on 11/17/10:

I had emailed my concerns to WDW about what had happened to BillSears and Maroo about 2 weeks ago. Today a received a phone call from Jerry, a manager at Epcot.

We spent 20 minutes on the phone discussing the double loading issue, the going through the queue issue, and how they had received several complaints about wheelchairs "skipping the line".

He told me it was the drivers discretion about double loading and it happens sometimes. I informed him it happens all the time, that in our 7 trips I have seen it every time we have been there. That is it NOT fair to people in wheelchairs/ECV's and it shouldn't happen. I reiterated what had happened to Bill and Maroo.

He stated that especially at closing they are going to have "greeters" that will assist wheelchair parties. He says most of the complaints are about large parties coming up with the wheelchair and skipping the line. He stated they would have the greeter explain that only so many people could stay with the chair and the other people would need to go through the queue. He also stated that they want to make if fair for everyone.

I told him that while I understood that, I felt the separate line for wheelchairs/ECV's was more safe due to the inexperience of a lot of ECV users at WDW. I told him there will be injuries due to inexperienced drivers trying to navigate the bus queues. I also stated the fact that many of these wheelchairs are over $10,000 and people don't respect them. I told them it would be very hard for a person in a wheelchair using a service dog to go through the regular line with children not respecting or understanding that the dog is working and parents not watching their children. I also stated there is more of a chance of someone pulling something off the chair, like an oxygen line for example. When people are tired they are not paying attention and that can be dangerous for someone with a disability.

He said it was a work in progress and that if we had any issues to call the transportation # and state the problems right then. It is the same # Sue has listed in the FAQ's thread. He stated that the other parks would start having mainstream queuing as well.

I will definitely be calling if the double loading is still going on and we have the same problems Bill and Maroo had. I will post when we get back as to how things are now.

Since our flight leaves at 2:45pm, we are going to hang out at the resort for the day. There is no sense in me worrying about getting back in time etc. We really do enjoy Pop Century so this will not be hard to stay there for the day. I will finish packing, then we will explore. I would like to hang out by the lake and I am sure Bill will buy some pins in the shop.

We are going to share a counter service. I don’t like to have a lot of food before I fly. I get nervous. We will take the Magical Depression (thanks Nebo) back to MCO and fly to St. Louis
CryBaby.gif
. Then I was going to drive about 90 minutes home, but with all the deer/car accidents that have been happening and us driving home right around dusk, we have thought better of it. We will spend the night in St. Louis. We will pick up Ace the next day
dog.gif
.

As usual I have the same worries I do every trip:

- Will Bill’s ankle and hip be ok or will he be in pain all the time?
- How will I hold up for a trip this long with walking all day in the parks and still doing all I do for Bill?
- Will things go well with meeting Toni and Terry? I mean Bill and I think we are super boring and they might run away from us.

Stupid things like that run through my head all the time. I am a worry wart, always have been always will be, but I just try to be positive for Bill’s sake.

The situation with Bill can be helped by rubbing down his ankle and stretching his hip several times a day if he wants me to. I just have to remind him that we need to slow down and take care of him.

The situation with me can be helped by me telling him when I need a break. I keep telling myself we will be there for 14 days so just take things easy. It doesn’t help that I am extremely mad and frustrated at myself about my weight. It is a little too late to fix that issue before the trip so I have to deal with the problems I have made for myself.

As for Toni and Terry, well I think they know how odd we are already. If I don’t scare them off by my size
sumo.gif
or Bill by his flirting ability
luvsmiliecouple.gif
, I think we will be ok.
