Wow, you weren't kidding when you said good and bad!! But really when you look at the list, the good really does outweigh the bad... Your Ip Dip friends will understand and will be there again next year I am sure. I think it is GREAT that Bill is getting more hours at work, and is doing so much with the advocacy group and you guys are taking on the Tenant's Association...

You guys know what is best for you, and it seems like you are doing just that!

I know saying good bye to a trip is hard, but just focus on December and being able to celebrate your birthday in your favorite place with your favorite person...

Awww Tracy, I'm so sorry. I know you are a people-pleaser by nature, so it's disappointing to have to change plans around, but it definitely looks like the good outweighs the bad. It's great that Bill is getting the extra hours and is in such high demand! Your ip-dippers understand, I'm sure!

Kathy's right you do design amazing tickers. I am very impressed. Like the others I am so sorry you have to cancel a trip but at least there are good reasons behind it. I totally understand about not being able to fly down on Friday and back on Suday and about the drives for the advocacy group. Travel is hard on John too and we have to take longer to do things and have more down time. 3 nights is our minimum pretty much anywhere but longer is preferable.

Just getting caught up...I was so annoyed this week b/c I Dis was soooooooooooooo sloooooooooow. So I wasn't really on. Anyways i am really sorry you had to cancel the Oct trip! But at least you can still go in Def and you got to extend the trip!

Looking forward to seeing pictures of the binder! I think I may want to do one for next Sept. so I will be tkaing notes. Do you have any tips? I am a binder virgin.

Do you think Lexi (5) would like to do pin trading? This is one of th e things I have been contemplating for our trip. I don't want to buy some if she isn't going to like it but I don't want to get there and not have any if she is interested. I guess I could buy some on ebay and have them just in case. Haha sorry for my little rant. I guess I just answered my own question didn't I.

Sorry to hear y'all had to cancel the Ip Dip trip-at least its for good reasons! I know how ya feel though-I had 2 trips planned for 2011. Then my in-laws decided we would all go to Gatlinburg for the week of Christmas and New years of 2011 so that cancelled out my Oct 2011 trip. Now, my parents have decided to rent a house at the beach July 4, 2011 week so I had to cancel my March 2011 trip! Guess I will start planning a trip for 2012 now!

Tips for a binder? Hmmm, decorate it so when you look it, it makes you smile. I tend to put things in order of how things go on the trip, or I try to. Have fun with it, there is no right or wrong way to do one.

My opinion for pin trading for Lexi, get her a couple of pins and try trading with CM's. Hannah wasn't into it much, she was almost 5 at the time. She liked them, but she liked actually doing things in the parks instead of messing with the pins.

I know, I have neglected this long enough, thanks everyone for waiting patiently.

LIFE UPDATE:

So I haven't been on my own PTR for quite a while . Why have I been neglecting it you might ask? Well let's see, this is what we have done since the last major update:

- Advocacy meeting in Springfield, IL
- 3 tenants association meetings
- 2 meetings with managers of the building (the first manager was fired, then we had to discuss things all over again with the new one)
- a meeting with an avocate about a proposed supportive living home (nursing home) someone wants to build in our city
- a city council meeting about the proposed supportive living program
- I have talked to the police 3 times about a variety of idiots in our building doing illegal stuff
- on top of all this regular work

It seems never ending. Bill is happy with the tenants association turn out. We had 22 people the first meeting, 31 the second, and 32 this past Thursday. That probably doesn't equal 15% of the people in the buildings but at least it is a start. The new managers seem to want to change things around here we will see.

Next time I post it will have binder stuff and our travel/first day plans. Thanks for hanging in there with us.
