Isn't it Amazing? A band that broke up almost 40 years ago is tops in the new millennium?

I was rooting for them to beat Eminem for top selling act -and they almost did.

If their box sets had counted each disc instead one unit per box, they would have come out easily on top.

Still, it's another great feat for the Fab Four.

I know that there are other Beatles fans on the Dis, so I wanted to share this news with them

John, Paul, George and Ringo, you done good!!!:banana::banana::banana:

Over three decades after their breakup, the Beatles still released the top-selling album of the 2000s. The Fab Four’s greatest hits compilation 1 sold over 11,448,000 copies since its release in November 2000 according to Nielsen SoundScan’s decade-end sales numbers. Eminem was the 2000s’ top-selling artist with 32.2 million combined in sales, plus two albums in the decade’s Top 10: The Marshall Mathers LP was fourth with 10,195,000 sold and Eminem Show was fifth with 9,789,000. Slim Shady edged out the Fab Four for the distinction of the decade’s top-seller as the Beatles claimed Number Two with 30 million......

:thumbsup2 Huge first generation Beatles fan here! My two daughters are also huge fans, and I've now introduced my 15 month old grandson to the Beatles. Right now, he is in love with the cartoon versions, but he does like to watch their Ed Sullivan Show performances, too.:)

Look what is under our tree.:rotfl:

:rotfl2: Good one!

I had A Hard Day's Night last week when I was attempting to customize the train to fit all four Beatles. The car that Paul, George and John are riding in originally had a roof on it. It took a hammer, pliers and a screwdriver to get the roof off.

It had to be done, though.:rotfl: Our grandson kept trying to put all four Beatles on the engine, but Ringo is the only figure in a permanent sitting position. Whenever he would put any of the other Beatles on the engine, they would fall off halfway around the track.

ETA: I just caught a wonderful piece on Paul McCartney on this morning's edition of the CBS Sunday Morning Show. It showed bits of his rooftop performance in NYC this past summer and his City Field concert. They also showed a lot of Beatles footage from the sixties. Sixty-seven years old and still going strong! So is Ringo, at the age of sixty-nine.

The Beatles music will live on for a very, very long time. No doubt about it!

Interesting article. I was surprised to see Eminem at top. I know he has been popular, but I figured with his polarizing music and lyrics, he wouldn't be the top seller. I guess there are more people than I thought that really do appreciate talent and artistry. I have both of those albums that are on the list, and they are amazing. I don't even usually listen to rap/hip hop music, except in his case.
