Beat my AP Rate With Last-Minute Online Travel Site Rate

I had what I thought was a pretty good AP Rate at WL (Courtyard View) - $287/night for our upcoming trip of 11/7-11/17. But I just went to one of the major online travel sites (can I use names?) and booked an even cheaper rate of $252 (incl. taxes), also a Courtyard View! Kinda disappointed my AP gets me less of a discount than a publicly available online site, but hey, this is saving me nearly $300, so who am I to complain?!

The only catch is that the site did not have all 10 nights, so I had to keep the first 2 nights of my Disney reservation and booked the last 8 nights through the online travel site. The CM told me they SHOULD be able to keep me in the same room, but no guarantee. I suppose even if I have to move, it's worth $300.

Just got the same lower rate directly from Disney using the new code that came out today (DMT or something). So I cancelled my travel site reservation (without penalty) and booked the whole thing with Disney at the lower rate, saving $350 actually over the AP rate. Wow.

The rate for WL was $225/night for a Courtyard view ($190 a night for woods). Other rates I saw were $330 / night for GF, $265 for Boardwalk / Yacht Club, $109 for the moderates and $59 for the values. Some really amazing rates if you ask me.

Was the code private, sent to your email or home? Or is it a general code on the disney site? I want to call to learn more! Thanks!

Actually, I first found the rate on the online travel site. Then I looked on this Board and found the Nov.-Dec Room Only code - someone posted it earlier - and tried it on the phone and got the same deal. Turns out the code is actually publicly available and was announced on the wdwinfo site earlier today - I just found it the hard way.

so it turns out this is only a room only discount? I think I'm probably better off with my free dining. Honestly, I don't think I could ever expect a better deal than what I got considering I'm saving over $2800 for two rooms (5 adults) at WL during Christmas week. Funny how that doesn't stop me from checking though! :goodvibes

Thanks everyone!

OH... and I think it is actually DMK, not DMT

I think that's the general public code. You can book right from the WDW site if you are looking at the discounted rooms. Funny that when I was looking at WL pricing for the end of Sept some nights were 159 per night and the last few were 200!! We didn't stay there since it still was a little out of budget but I'm surprised with all the codes that the pricing isn't any lower. WL is my favorite resort at WDW. We were lucky enough to be able to stay there in Aug 2003 for 114/night with AP.

Not WL, but I got AKL (usually the same price as WL) for $170/night for the week of 11/30-12/6. We haven't gotten our APs yet (planning on upgrading this trip), but I think that's a great rate. Wish I couldn't have gotten WL, because of the proximity to MK for the twins, but it's great nonetheless. I love WL, but we would like to stay at more places before going back.
