Bear with me, but where the heck is ME at the airport?

Psst! My text in cyan is deliberately "lowlighted". The dark text in the reply is meant to be my whole and complete answer to fit the situation, is hopefully not confusing, and should read well (hang together well) minus the cyan text.

The cyan text may be parenthetical, may go off on a tangent, or may be off topic.

Depends on your airline. DME is located on level 1, of Side B of MCO. If your airline arrives on Side B, then you just get off the plane, take the tram to the main terminal area, then go to Side B..there are bright neon signs overhead. You arrive on level 3. When collecting luggage, you will need to go down the escalators to level 2 and head to baggage claim and get your bags. Then, take the elevator down to level 1 and walk down to the DME counter.
But..if your flight arrives on Side A, you have to take the tram from the gate area to the main terminal (same as before), but then, staying on Side A, go down to level 2, to Side A baggage claim and get your bags. Then, back up to level 3 and the main area of the terminal, and cross over (through a big lobby type area) to Side B...then go all the way down to level 1 and DME.
It's kind of a pain to get baggage from Side A if you are taking DME.

Now...I'm not sure that is your question though. If you are only looking for info as to where the rental car places are, then yes, they are usually right there, on the same level as DME is. I believe they are also located on Side A as well. I'm not sure if all the rental car companies are inside MCO though...some may require a shuttle ride.

You can't go from baggage side a level 2 to side b level 1 - DME???:confused3

Please accept my apology for misunderstanding the point of your differently-colored text.

No, you cannot.

If your baggage is on A side, you would have to go to A side level 2, get the bags, go up to level 3, cross the terminal, and then go down to B side level 1.

Yep, she covered that:

Maybe I'm totally missing something here........but if the OP doesn't trust DME to transport their bags, why not just get a car that can hold all of them plus the luggage, and not have all this confusion?!?!

They're already getting a mini-van - for, I think, seven people and two wheelchairs to get around the Orlando area. Apparently she has determined that (based on rental company websited information, probably) this vehicle won't also be able to accommodate all the luggage necessary for these seven people.

OP - not stalking you, just observant ;)

Well, whaddaya know! I've always respected your opinion!

No longer a mod though. :)
Ah..so that makes me the sole moderator who's opinion is respected...cool beans.

I don't think I said that you can get from Side A level 2 to Side B level 1 directly. I said you have to return to level 3 on Side A and then cross over to Side B before heading down to level 1.
Thanks kaytieeldr for making it clearer. I tend to get wordy!!

Ahen. No. I didn't say "THE [only] two moderators whose opinions..." I said, "Two moderators...". BIG difference. :teeth:

I would like to take this opportunity to state that I respect the hard work performed by, and the opinions of, all the Moderators on the DIS - including those who have had to assign (deserved) infractions to me.
