Beaches Similar to El Matador closer to Long Beach?

We have decided to add a day of fishing from Long Beach into our Disney week. Are there any fairly secluded beaches similar to El Matador closer to the Long Beach area? We will be visiting San Diego area after our week at Disney and stopping at La Jolla and Coronado so we already have some time in the sand planned. I would like to visit a rocky, cave, beach that has to be hiked down to like El Matador. If there is not much similar to Malibu beaches what would the drive be with traffic consideration on a Saturday from Malibu to Long Beach? Thank you in advance!

Are there any beaches you would recommend for exploring, shell hunting, and tide pooling? We aren't looking for a swimming beach at all-just somewhere to explore near Long Beach or Newport Beach area!
