What beaches do you recommend that are near the Disney area? How close is the beach? Directions? We have children, so please consider that. Do you have any pictures of this beach? How close/far is Clearwater? Isn't that Coco Beach known for Shark attacks? Any advise and recommendations are welcomed.

I can't give you any directions to Cocoa Beach but I can tell you that we love to go there. We were even staying at Vero Beach (home of the Dodgers spring training camp! ) and we drove to Cocoa for the day. The public beach we go to is on the street behind that Ron Jon surfshop (or whatever it is called) and down the left a little ways. Has bathroom with showers if you are looking for something like that. The beach is nice, don't remember it being dirty and it was never crowded when we were there. I have never heard of shark attacks on CB, but that doesn't mean there aren't are anything. Maybe someone else knows something I don't.

I forgot to mention also that we went there last year with a 4yo, 2yo, & 13 month old. I do have pictures, but I don't know how to get them here. When DH comes home I will see if I have any good ones that aren't focused on just my kids and maybe I can send them to you.

I think we must have been at the same area as Inh'smom-the parking lot is next to Ron Johns and the showers are next to the lot. We had a great time a couple of years ago and will be going back next week at cocoa beach! We had our three children and just kept them close to the shore and never in the water without one of us. Recomendations-lots of sunscreen and if you have an umbrella, it will be perfect. I just bought one to take from costco for $15. It was not too crowded and parking was free!

We like to go up to Daytona Beach, it's just about an hours drive and we can park right on the beach... works well for us as we don't plan on staying overnight there and will only be an hour travel time each way and don't have to go to far from vehicle :cool1:

I didn't know about the cruise ships because we usually go during the week. Maybe we will try that on our next trip. Is it very crowded on the weekends?
Thanks for the tip!
