Wondering if you think this strategy is doable for an "off" day for our trip on Oct:

11:30am - Beaches & cream at BC/YC

1-4pm - HS for rides on ToT, TSMM, RnRC, STours (IF we get FP+)

5pm - arrive at DTD for 6pm Boathouse ressie

Experts, please weigh in and let me know if you think this is doable. We will have a car and planning to drive to each location.

Thanks so much!!!

I think you're pushing your luck with DTD as your second destination. Traffic is still very unpredictable there. I'm guessing that time of day will be a little worse. I like that you're planning to arrive at 5 so you have a cushion, but DTD on a timeline just sounds like unneeded stress to me.

Just want to point out that you won't be able to get FP+ for both TSMM and RnRC since they're in the same tier. You could single rider line RnRC however.

What day of the week? Weekend nights at DTD are worse. But I'm sure that time frame would work. You only want 4 rides, and you can get 3 FP and do the other single rider if standby is too long. I wonder if you should leave your car at the BC/YC after your lunch ADR and just walk or boat back and forth from DHS. Would that be faster?

I would do TOT, RNRC standby (single rider often takes as long as (or longer than) standby on RNRC,) Star Tours, and then TSM. You could flip-flop the last two if you want.

We would be there on Friday, Oct 9. My intension was to avoid DTD like the plague because of the construction, but we got enticed by The Boathouse opening and AmphiCars!

Yes wondering the same thing about walk/boat vs driving, but will need the car to go to DTD from HS-so then not sure how much time will be saved.

Really appreciate FP+ tips! Thanks so much for the reality check...and reminders about tiering and standby vs single rider, etc!

I think an 11:30am B&C and 6pm Boathouse ADR are frankly too close together. Since we indulge on large meals while at WDW, we have learned over the years to space our meals out further than we might normally do at home. B&C has large portions, plus those sundaes for dessert. When we do a B&C lunch, we don't eat dinner until maybe 7-8pm.

It is definitely closer than I'd like normally, but I think it will be an "ice-cream-for-lunch" type situation. We are doing all our meals OOP so not obligated to eat more than we'd like. Also planning on sharing plates!

Gotcha, that's a little easier to manage then. I'd also recommend leaving for DTD earlier than 5pm. You'll have to walk or boat to one of the Epcot area resorts to catch the DTD bus (no bus from DHS to DTD) so that will take some time. It's a bit of a commute, and I'd imagine there would be traffic at that time. I'd leave DHS to go to one of the resorts around 3:45 to be safe.

Thanks nkereina! We're staying off-site so we'll be using our rental car to drive to BC/YC, then to DHS, then to DTD. With that in mind, does that add or subtract to travel times? Also are we insane to go to DHS in the middle of the afternoon 1-4pm? I mean, with crowds and all? Or...is it more insane to attempt DTD on a Friday evening in October?
