Can anyone tell me where Beaches & Cream restaurant is located. Is there any way we can find a map of the on site hotels etc, as we are staying off site and would like to go to Hoop de doo and maybe a couple of other places. Thanks in advance Wendy

Thank you Goofyish. Do you happen to know if it is along walk we will be going with 2 children age 8 and 10

Wendy,

We went here in 2001 and it is great!!

We had our two DDs with us (who were 4 & 6) and we just waited for the boat at the International Gateway exit. It stops at the Boardwalk first, and then across to Y&B.

You could walk but when it's really hot it would be quite tiring, and the boat is much more fun.

The girls enjoyed the ride, we had a rest, and to top it all, we all had milkshakes at Beaches & Cream. Out of this world.

You'll love it.

Cheers

Wendy

You will love B & C :D The walk is only 5-10 mins from International gateway, but if the boat isn't busy then it is a nice trip too :D

I really like the look of this also.......got the notion from reading Sam's food reports...........lol:)

Think we'll give it a try when we go to Epcot.......

It really is a great place to eat - just try and leave some room for one of their "sweets" - from what I remember they do one that is called "the kitchen sink" that has to be seen to be beleived.

We really fancy this place (4 females in party, say no more). Is there anywhere where I can find a menu ?

Thanks for that, looks great.

Spotted one problem for us. My daughter Hannah is lactose intolerant so can't eat ice cream, yoghurt, milk chocolate or cream. I'd hoped that there might have been more sherbet (sorbet) based dishes. Pity.

However, I can't deprive Zoe who adores all of the above. I'll have to find another treat for Hannah.

Having checked out the site again, it seems that Disney are very well set up for people with allergies, so I might be able to get a "custom-built" sundae. Lets hope so.

Hi Sid,
I've heard that the subsitute for ice-cream - called Rice Dream - dose not taste good.

.............. I have copied over a post by someone whose son has a very bad problem with lactose:

".....my DS has a life-threatening anaphylactic allergy to milk, eggs and nuts. He also thinks Rice Dream tastes like the "bottom of the cesspool" (He's 15.) With some negotiating, we have been able to get the Epcot restaurants, including the Land, to supply Sorbet for his dessert, which he much prefers to Rice Dream. The last time, they went over to the Coral Reef to get some.

I would call ahead and insist on speaking to the chef........don't count on a substitute automatically being there without some extensive confirmation.

In a counterpoint to this, we had a PS at Bomas. There were no dessert there he could eat. The chef personally made him fresh sorbet and a wonderful deepfried mango pastry. It was the most magical meal we had".

With the sit down restaurants, they do try to be very accommodating to allergy sufferers - tell the restaurant when you make your PS and again when you check-in.

Thanks Fantasia Sam, but I really feel for my daughter. I know how I'd feel sitting with a bowl of sherbet watching my sister eating a mega-dessert. If you know where to look there are lots of different flavoured soya based ice creams available.

Still, after reading through the website listed by mkingdon, I'm going to ask if they can create some sort of sundae for her. It seems that Disney are well set up to deal with people with food allergies.

If I can remember I'll let everybody know.

Yeah I know how I would feel too. Hope you get something sorted for her.
