Beaches and Cream

We are staying at the Yacht Club in April and wanted to go to Beaches and Cream and have the Kitchen Sink on one of our resort days. Unfortunately there are no reservations available either day that I am wanting to go. Can I get in on a stand by if I'm not able to secure a reservation before my trip?

Since the place is very tiny you probably will have an issue getting a table. Keep checking especially as it gets closer to the day you want to dine there. Many times people cancel a day or so before because their plans change. I've gotten so many of the hard to get reservations a day or two before because of cancellations.

Depends on the day. I stayed at the YC (Late March, checked out 04/03 I think) in 2017. I believe they open at 11 or 11:30. If you are there right when they open, your chances are good (get there like 10 minutes prior). After 12pm, forget it.


Sadly I only reserved one lunch there. Many times in the evening I would have loved to have had an ice cream when we returned from the parks, but the take out line was always long. Best luck I had was when we returned from AK one night at 10. They said they could seat us if we waited about 15 minutes. We were fine with that but felt really rushed because they started cleaning up the kitchen area/tables around us. If I planned better, I would have made some 9:30 reservations during my stay just for the ice cream

Yep, this found us one for our upcoming trip.

We were able to walk up once mid afternoon and got lucky to get a table.
The walk up Beaches and Cream snack bar has a mini mickey sink (not quite as big as the kitchen sink), but might an option if you can't get in the main area.

We actually liked the Mickey sink more than the big one

We almost always stay at Beach Club, always get a reservation at B&C a few days before or day of just by refreshing on the app - has never taken me more than a few minutes to do this. The reservation finder tool sounds great but I have never felt the need to use it myself. People are cancelling ADRs all the time - refreshing works!

Generally, counter seating there is saved for walk-ups. We eat lunch there with an ADR every trip, and there's almost always counter seating available. The smaller your party, the easier your luck will be. I can't speak to how busy or not busy it gets later on, we're usually there around 12-1. But since you're staying there anyway, wouldn't hurt to stop by and see if they can accommodate you.

Thanks everyone for the great feedback. I have put in a couple of Touring Plans request as it is always very helpful, I just wasn't sure how often they received cancellations. The kitchen sink is going to be way to much ice cream for my family, but my daughter has seen some YouTube video's of the experience and can't stop talking about it. Hopefully something will open up before we go. Thanks again for all of the help.
