Love to go early in the meal time hours. Do they close for a time between lunch and dinner?

No, they do not close during the day. They open at 11 a.m. and - I think - close at 11 p.m.

I love eating there! I was just going to add what's been said - and that it makes a great late night snack if you're wandering the boardwalk and need a cool-down! I love the late hours - last year for the lunar eclipse we managed to get GIANT ice creams and to sit on the little beach and enjoy it!
