This could get the award for most bizarre question but....

Anyone know what the diameter of the umbrella Disney rents is? We're thinking of buying and taking our own instead of renting this year and just wanted to have an idea of how wide those are... we're hoping to get by with just purchasing one, maybe 6.5 foot diameter

In the past, it was first come, first served. Last year they were reserving chairs and umbrellas for folks ahead of time (not requiring anyone to prepay, but they were reserving them). A couple of days they ran out of umbrellas. I mentioned it in the survey I received when we got home and got a call from management saying they weren't doing this any more .... but about two months later someone posted they had reserved them ... so... a long way of saying I'm not sure what the policy is today.

We decided we'd like the flexibility to set up where we want, when we want. We didn't like having to be there as soon as they opened. It will also save us some $$$$
