I am a newbie and planning our very first trip to WDW as a family in March! I am trying to be as prepared as possible as I realize there is so much to take into consideration. That last time I was there I was only 5 years old and I only remember bits and pieces. Anyways, I am starting to obsess about everything I will need to pack for our family of 5. My question is, do the resorts have towels for use by the pools? (we are staying at AS Music) Seeing that we are only going to be there 6 days and probably won't be using the pool more than once or twice, I just hate the thought of packing 5 towels that would take up precious space in our suitcases! Thanks! :)

We're going in March, too! Yay for us both, huh?
From everything I've read, and I'm completely new, too, I think I'll be packing towels for my family. We've stayed at hotels (not at WDW) in the past that ran out of pool towels and one of us had to run back to our room to get room towels. UGH! Rolling them up for packing takes very little room, IMO.

Have an absolutely wonderful time in the World!

At the values they don't have towels by the pool you need to take the towels from your room and you can ask housekeeping for extra. The room towels are'nt very big which I don't mind when it's warmer but if it's a little cool and you go for a swim a bigger towel is nicer for the walk back to the room. If you're children are smaller the room towels would probably fine. The beach towels do take up more space so you might want to see how much room you have left if you have to pay for your luggage, or take them in your carry ons. Linda :)

we're going to bring our beach towels too..... I'm actually going to go to Target or Walmart and see about those "big space bags" for packing.. I saw a commercial where you can just roll the air out of them so you don't have to use a vaccuum to suck the air out. that might help with making some extra room. :goodvibes I'm going to try them first and if they're good, I might get the smaller sizes for our clothes to see if we can't pack in a few less bags!

You could use the room towels or buy a few beach towels from the hotel store and leave them behind when you leave.

Just ask "Mousekeeping" for extra towels. They're not as big as beach towels, but they'll give you as many as you need.

(I always ask for extra towels, extra hangers, and an extra blanket upon check-in. Hotel bedspreads gross me out, since they're not washed very often. So I strip the bedspread off and just use an extra blanket instead of a bedspread!)

If you're only going to go to the pool a couple of times, it won't be worth it to take your own beach towels (taking up precious suitcase room, as you said!).

Thanks for such great advice! Seeing as we arrive late in the evening on the 22nd and leave in the afternoon of the 27th, we are probably going to spend the majority of the time in the parks, since our vacation isn't even a full week. :sad2: But it is what it is! I am thinking I will probably the towels behind or maybe just bringing a couple for DH and myself.
