Beach Refurbishment to Begin on May 23 at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

Curious and hopeful.

The pictures look just like it did in January. The fence and scrims have been up since they closed it all several years ago for Reflections. Here are some pics from 2020. The deck and fence to the west have been there for a while. The new (original) beach to the east has been that way since at least 2019.

Curious if these are new pictures from @mrsap to show the "refurb" that just started. or just stock (prior guest) pics showing current state.

Hopeful these are current pics and the "beach refurb" will be to address the Reflections mess without impacting the new Clementine's to the east.

I'm guessing they'll stick with the people stopper rip rap and fence. Too bad as it really ruins the site line of the beach. I have no illusions that a sign only will keep people out of the water, especially from dawn to dusk. "That doesn't apply to me" is another reason we can't have nice things.

You'd think gators, snakes, and brain eating amoeba would be enough to keep people out of the water, wouldn't you?

Maybe the warning sign should end by saying "..... and we're NOT coming in after you!!!!".

And none of those you need to worry about. 😊

Anyone with anything new to report ? Sure would nice to see Disney getting up off of some Disney dollars to fix this giant eyesore they created.

I also read that the brain eating amoeba's are going extinct due to lack of food in the current culture. (or something like that I read on the internet) :rolleyes1

This made no sense to me from the beginning. The article said the beach was closing for a refurbishment, but it has been closed for over 2 years now. Whats up with that?

Sorry for the delay we were there on June 4th. New sand on the old Clementine Beach. Fresh sand in a large pile at the end of the beach for spreading. All the weeds are cut and gone. Heard from a cast member that they wanted to have it completed by the time of the 1st HDDR. We shall see.
Looking forward to sitting on that beach in October. 0723CEB4-D86B-4D93-BC02-743093416955_1_102_o-2.jpegE5D69B29-C17F-4DDE-9D33-32F2C031B75B_1_102_o-2.jpegE4052987-7389-4DA4-9F35-74DDC172CABB_1_102_o-2.jpeg

I just got home yesterday after a 4 day visit to the Fort. I actually never made it down to the marina area, sorry.

Thanks for the pics!

They could make a nice little picnic spot in the grassy area to the right of the 'greenery wall' (Pic 2). Do a bit of trimming back of the bushes and push that fence back near where that (apparent) rubble is and rope off near the water. Put in 5-7 picnic tables with umbrellas & trash cans and create some pathways et voila! 'Wilderness Grove Picnic Grounds'.
