Beach question

Hello! For those of you who have driven to the beach for a day... where did you park and did you find any beach that had a nice place for dinner or lunch? My son and I want to head out to possibly Daytona or Melbourne during our Disney trip while my husband is working but are open to options... just want to make it worthwhile for the drive and make sure there is also a place to shower the sand off before driving back. Thanks for any tips!

Big thumbs up for Daytona Beach, its our favorite Florida beach.
Tons of stuff to see and do at the Pier, BoardWalk and Oceanwalk. Restaurants (TS and QS), Movie theaters, an amusement park, a water park and souvenir stores.
You can even drive and/or park on the beach (there are also parking lots near the Pier and along the side streets if parking on the beach isn't for you or the tide is high)
There are restrooms and showers right by the Pier entrance, beside the splash pad.

We are locals and always go to Jetty Park at port canaveral. It is a very nice clean beach. They have a lunch place but there are also great restaurants close by. The best part is you can see the cruise ships it is 45 minutes from Disney. I highly recommend it. Have a great trip!
