I am looking for feedback from those lucky Florida residents. We are coming to WDW/IOA this spring break. We have a 3 night cruise semi-planned but are wondering if we should instead just drive to a beach and enjoy the ocean on land vs. ship. But of course the weather is a factor-will it be too cool to really enjoy the beach? Anyone with thoughts or suggestions on where to go or if we should stick with the cruise to Bahamas. Thanks

I don't live in Fl - but it completely depends upon who you booked your cruise with - we had an absolutely horrible cruise one year and I have been afraid to try them since....

So make sure you check with your local BB on the booking agent and the cruise - if they can't help you they should be able to give you the phone number of the BB that can help you.

It seems they are 2 completely different experiences. We did a 4 day Disney cruise and loved it. We have also gone and spent the day at Cocoa beach. We always go in Feb. and have been pretty lucky getting good weather. My kids can swim in the ocean in cold temps so we don't worry too much about that. A 3 day cruise would be somewhat rushed. We did 4 to try it out but I think it would have been tough to do it in 3. Good luck with whatever you decide.

What cruise do you have planned? You can get alot of info on cruisecritic.com. I would vote for the cruise if you have time. We went to the gulf beaches on our last trip, and they are nice, but don't compare to some places in the Bahamas.

Thanks for all of your replies. We are planning to cruise on the Sovereign of the Seas (RC) with stops in Bahamas and RC's own island, CoCo Kay. I have found the web site, "CruiseCritic" and it has given me good info-thanks.

I am a FL resident who has cruised on Sovriegn of the Seas. First I will tell you that March is a great beach month. Espcially if you go down to south FL. The Jupiter Beach resort is a great little boutique hotel right on the beach with great amenities. There are some big beach resorts up near Stuart and then there is always Disney's Vero Beach resort. I would not reccomend Ft. Lauderdale or Key West during the Spring Break time frame unless you are college students. Secondly, we had a fabulous time on Sovriegn of the Seas. RC is a nice cruise line, good food, good service etc. The Bahamas are really nothing special, we went snorkeling that day. Coco Cay was a great beach day and we thouroughly enjoyed ourselves. I guess it just depends on what kind of vacation you are looking for. If you want to relax and just hang out, go to the beach, if you want to be more active and party some, go on the cruise. A very tough decision, good luck!!!!!
