I'm not a DVC member (yet), but I'm considering renting DVC points for a 2-bedroom BCV next September for my 40th birthday celebration.

The Beach Club 5th floor (club level) is under renovation, and the BC thread indicates other BC rooms will be next, followed by the BCV's, then on to the Yacht Club.

Has anyone heard of any details on this renovation for the villas - schedule, furnishings, etc.? I'd really love to stay at the BCVs, but I don't want to rent points if they'll be under construction.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Haven't heard any timeline mentioned yet but we did receive a survey for our July visit and it was very specific to BCV. We were asked about our use of the kitchen area and were given several options. A full stove with oven or a two burner range top with convection oven/microwave was one of the questions and also a larger refrigerator with ice making capabilities was also hinted. The bathroom questions dealt with jetted tub use and shower types (rain shower or adjustable hand held shower). They also asked about plunge pool option for ground floor villas that have a patio. Even provided pictures of possible options in kitchen and bathroom. I guess they are still in the process of finalizing layout of these areas of the two bedroom and one bedroom units.

Wow, plunge pool! Very fun, though it would change the look of the grounds for sure.

I was looking at photos of the VGF 2-bedrooms, I like the more open layout of the kitchen against the wall in an L-shape instead of a U-shape.

Thanks for the info! :)

Others have reported getting the same survey for other resorts, so it is not specific to BCV. I think they are getting ideas for the Poly or other future resorts.

BC renovations and BCV renovations are completely different. BC has been renovated multiple times since it was opened. BCV has never had a complete renovation since it opened in about 2001/2002. DVC renovations are funded by members not by Disney and only occur about every 12-17 years. Replacement of soft goods occurs more frequently.

When they do decide to renovate BCV, they will probably close off wings/floors to do so. Noise will occur during the day.

This survey was from DVC directly and it did indicate it was in regard to our recent stay at BCV. While it could be used for future DVC renovation or new build I had the impression that it was geared for BCV renovations and perhaps the rumored expansion of DVC at BC.

Others got the exact same survey staying at AKV, BLT and other places.

The YC/BC thread admin reported that BCV would be getting a hard goods renovation, along with all of BC, but maybe that's incorrect.

During March of this year VWL received a renovation which included hard goods. I actually think the first reports about it came when someone posted they were there and the work was starting. Prior to that the only "notification" came during the annual meeting when it was announced the VWL and HHI would be getting renovations this year. VWL is only slightly smaller than BCV and they renovated it floor by floor and were done in a month (which the workmanship sadly shows). But there were very few reports of people being disturbed by the noise unless they were on a floor just below or above the renovations and stayed in their room during the day.

Nothing was officially announced about BCV at the annual meeting but there have been a few posts by people being told by managers or such that BCV was going to get renovated this year. Very hard to say with nothing official from DVC but they are not known for their great communication either.

I don't understand how they could not have firm dates since rooms would have to be taken out of service. BCV is usually soldout.

I'd hope they have firm dates (if it's happening within the next year) but that never means they're going to share them.

We have booked for early March 2014, wondering if we need to switch, or is there much on an inconvenience. Have not been part or a reno before.

You're a little late.

I'd like to know this as well. BCV is our home resort and we are planning on being back there on 8/15. Thinking we may try for BWV at 7 months as to not stay in construction zone. Bcv needs an update...hope they get one!

Sorry not sure I understand, does this mean the Renos are done? If so great, if not and I am late because they are starting them, then I can switch resorts.

Hehhe never mind I see what I did,,,I meant march 2015,,,No coffee whoops

I think they mean its a little late to be switching resorts regarding availability of rooms for your whole vacation. Unless you are willing to do a split stay. I am going in early March also and I'm just happy they are finally going to do a refurb at my home resort, it was starting to look sad. I'm not really worried about the construction. They will section off the block of rooms they are working on so you might not even hear anything.

We're already booked for BCV for June 2015. I'm not going to worry too much about it. Having to avoid some construction areas and noise during the daytime isn't going to cramp our style much.

btw...What does "hard goods refurbishment" mean
