Would you rather have seen DVC build the YCV, or the current BCV?

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the BC, but the YC is one of my favorites. If DVC had built the YCV, I would now have a fourth home resort! :thumbsup2

BCV, because its closer to EPCOT.

Beach Club. If they had messed with my beloved Yacht Club I would have sworn off Disney completely.

I probably shouldn't have voted since I still wouldn't want to purchase there, but a YCV holds more attraction to me than BCV. Probably because the theming is a little more pronounced.

Having said that, the EPCOT view and closeness to EPCOT of BCV is something that I think most BCV owners wouldn't want to trade away!

I can't say I'm a fan of the theme at the Yacht Club. A bit too stuffy for my tastes. I love the Beach Club Villas, though I don't know that I'll ever add on points there. We've had good enough luck at the 7 month window.

We would have bought at either. To me, it is essentially the same. I do prefer the lobby of the YC and even more so now after the latest refurbishment of the BC lobby.:rolleyes1

But the common areas are shared...oh, I guess that is why they are common.:rotfl2: And the decor of BCV is different from both.

But I did vote for BCV because of the proximity to Epcot and the view. I actually enjoy the view of the backside of Epcot and especially of the woods. I think any view at the YCV would be of the S/D?

YC is our fav non-DVC resort, so the poll was a no brainer :)
we find BC too noisy with lots of running, screaming, crying, whereas the YC has a more refined, elegant atmosphere.

The extra crowds from the villas have contributed to this quite a bit, when we used to stay at BC back in the 90's it was much quieter. I still love the BC/BCV, don't get me wrong, but when I want peace and quiet I head for the YC, I'd hate to see them put in villas over there. I can see why some of the CMs at BC were somewhat distressed about BCV being built there, it has changed the atmosphere, not necessarily bad just more congested.

Be careful what you wish for MG, you might not like YC as much with villas attached. It would be a whole different ballgame if you ask me. I think I prefer YC to stay just as it is. As far as the hotel side is concerned I think if I were paying cash I'd actually prefer to stay at YC over BC, shocking but true.

I'm trying to think where they would build a YCV. They'd have to take a bunch of the parking lot to do it. Unless they would add it to where the convention center is located.

I'm not digging that refurb either, it made me a little sad last time and I missed the OLD lobby. Oh well...time marches on...

or take over the creepy fish & bird resorts.....
oops, did i say that? :confused3

seriously tho, i agree. a DVC there prob would take away from what makes the YC so special.

OK, YC fans what makes it special to you? I've always loved the lobby there as well as pictures of the rooms (we've stayed BC prior to BCV but never YC) but otherwise to me it is one very large resort....Y&BC. Enlighten me please.:surfweb:

The decor, the peace and quiet, the staff, the water views of Epcot and BW. Being close to Yacht Club Galley and Yachtsman Steakhouse.

Me too....I am NOT impressed with the changes. I told them so in the last survey I got...especially the ORANGE chairs...yuck!!!

However, I would definitely prefer the BCV to YCV. The light blue is SOOO pretty, while the YC is just too dark and stuffy for me.

Also, I would be very sad to lose my Epcot views.

ITA. When I walk through the YC...it feels like I need to be wearing red/white and blue with anchors and sails...and of course my boat shoes :lmao: :lmao:

decor: Do you mean of the lobby? I agree but I walk through both lobbies several times per trip so that's a wash for me. If you mean the rooms, villas have different decor anyway.

peace and quiet: rooms or lobby? The lobby is often quieter but again I don't spend much time in them....just pass on through. And as someone pointed out, the YC lobby would be somewhat busier if the villas were on that side of the resort. Are the rooms much more quiet for some reason?

water views: same water views as far as I can figure out.:confused3

Yacht Club Galley and Yachtsman's Steakhouse....yes, we prefer both to Cape May but we're talking an extra 30 seconds walking.:confused3

Still don't get it, Sammie but that's OK. Vacations are about perception to a great extent.

I agree. I've always loved the theming of the YC.
