Beach Club Villa - Availability of 2 Bedroom with 2 queen bed option

I am a DVC member and was planning on staying at the BCV starting on 9/24/15 in a 2 bedroom with the 2 queen beds option. Using the availability tool it shows that in a 17 straight day span all dates are available except 9/25. That is the only date that is not available. Some research found that there are 78 units with the 2 queen bed option. Giving that they may be holding half of them for the general public, that means that the other half (39) of the 2 bedroom units with 2 queen beds are booked for just that one day, 9/25. That seems highly unlikely. Anyone think something is not right about this.

Not available for 17 straight days other than the one you mentioned. Maybe people have booked since you looked.

Also there are rooms out of service due to the renovations.

That's the day Food and Wine starts. It isn't highly unlikely at all that the two bedrooms with two queens are gone in Feburary for the start of Food and Wine. I'm shocked that they aren't booked the following days.

I don't believe they offer the 2 queen 2 bedroom to the public. I believe only 25 of the 78 dedicated 2 bedrooms have the 2 queens. The rest are 1 queen/1 sofabed in the 2nd bedroom.

We had a woman who worked at the front desk take us for a tour of a DVC 2-bedroom in September 2015. It was the queen/sofabed layout. She told me that they do indeed have about 25 of them that are DVC only with the 2 queen layout. They are going through a major renovation soon, I want to say throughout 2016 but I didn't pay too much attention as it was scheduled to be done well in advance of our plan to visit again in November 2017. She did say the rooms would be taken down to studs and completely remodeled, which is good because compared to our September 2015 stay at a 2-bedroom in Animal Kingdom Kidani Village...the Beach Club room decor was definitely starting to look old and tired.

The new availability tool has had a number of issues since inception, including that it has been wrong more than 20% of the time. It is getting better but it still needs a lot of work. If you check it now, you will find that Sep 25 date is open.

When DVC renovates, they don't take it down to studs. They might paint, new flooring, new cabinet doors (or not), new furniture, but not down to studs.
