I don't believe AK rope drop is never on the 1/2 hour. Usually opens at 8:00 Am or 9:00 Am depending upon the season. And morning EMH adds another variable. Having said that, we are usually at the BC busstop 45 minutes before the AK park opening.....8:15 for a 9:00 opening, etc. I've seen 2 different types of openings at AK; one where they open the turnstiles at the opening time and the other (more common) where they let you in early 15 - 20 minutes and stage you just over the bridge in front of the tree of life. This is where they have a cute "pre-show" and then the rope drops! Left for the Safari and right for EE. So, to answer your question (again) ....45 minutes pre-open! Have fun! :thumbsup2

So does the 8:15 am time get you in back of the crowd or closer to the front (at AK )?
What stops if any does the bus make after picking us up from the Beach club?

thx.

I'm assuming that you are looking to be in the front of the group, for park opening. If that's the case, you might want to be at the bus stop earlier than 8:15....I've gotten to AK at 8:30 for a 9:00 opening and been at the end of a huge line...took about 15 minutes to get to the gates. I would plan on being on the bus by 7:45, and at AK by 8 or so. But, that's just my experience. I don't think there will be any other stops....YC/BC usually share the morning bus, while BW and S/D share their early a.m. bus. The only stop you may make is at BB, but I don't know how early they start stopping there.

Thx.

So if I get to AK around 8:00 am for a 9:00 scheduled opening...an hour wait seems long in the hot August weather.
Do they let people in before 9:00?

Thanks.

We were just at WDW in May and they held everyone at the turnstiles until opening which was at 9:00. Our DDs had a tour at AK and had to be at the front of the park by 8:15. At that time, the lines were already to the ticket booths. By 8:45, the lines were back to the security checkpoints. They did turn off the biometric finger scan so park entry was a little quicker but it still took us 10 minutes to get through the turnstiles.
