Ok, I'm running out of things to talk and read about here on the DIS as I watch my countdown timer slowly approach single digits!:teeth: So can any of you tell me more about the BC? We'll be staying there and I've done tons of research, but I'd like to hear your personal experiences. I'm debating whether to upgrade to concierge when we arrive. We'll be there 9 days and we have 3 boys ages 10, 12 and 15. Would concierge be worth it for us? I'd do it if they offered it at a discount. If not, that's ok, we'll stick with a standard room. I'll just be soooo happy to be at WDW after planning for 2 years that as long as I have a clean place to lay my head at night, I'll be a happy camper!!!

We stayed at BCV only one night to see how good SAB was. Kids loved it so much we skipped going to the parks next day just to enjoy the pool all day. Lazy river part, sinking sands part, whirlpool part, slide, shallow sandy part (3 yr. old). Only thing that got kids out of the pool was when it was closed for lightning.Then they played in the arcade. Food was good at Hurricane Hannah and better at Beaches & Cream.

The first afternoon we did go to Epcot and it was great being able to walk there. We took the boat home in the evening because our feet hurt and it was so great to be so close to our hotel.

Want to buy DVC there. SAB for the kids as they grow up. Epcot for me after they are grown.

No experience with Concierge anywhere. That's out of my league!

You are soooo brave 9 days in a room with three boys!!!

We like the BC concierge for several reasons;

the kids use the lounge as a extended living room. The TV in the lounge usually has a disney video playing....so it lessens up the fights over the TV in the room (when you're in the room anyway)

we can hit the parks really early since we don't have to wait for table service at the restaurants. The breakfast offering is more than enough for us to start the day.

The kids are never STARVING!!! The offerings take the whining out of the picture. You can plan a later lunch or dinner.

We take bottled water from the lounge with us to the parks and save a few bucks. Actually there are some days we don't buy any food and just eat in the lounge (OK not many..but go over Food and Wine, so we'll try the booth fare and that will usually do it).

There's a few.. Enjoy your trip:wave2:

Anita, it was either two rooms at CBR or one at BC. Of course BC won out for me because of the pool and close proximity to MGM, Epcot and the large variety of restaurants nearby. I don't mind sharing the room with the boys so much since we we'll be out and about a lot.

We just stayed there in May. When we were there we just fell in love with the Yacht Club, so that would be my first choice next time (we just liked the look and feel more). You won't need concierge if you bring snacks, waters, juice, etc. . The lounge in the lobby has continental breakfast. Then again, with three kids it might be easier to do concierge.

Don't miss the chaaracter breakfast at Cape May. We did this the morning of our pool day. You will need a PS.

If you don't like your view when you get in the room , ask to be moved. We had a HORRIBLE view (as did all of the rooms on this particular side of the building). I won't hesistate to ask to move next time.

Suzy, I didn't know they had continental breakfast in the BC lobby. Just when I thought I'd done all my research. Just curious, is it complimentary?

I know I posted before on some threads you had. If you dont do conceirge, definetely get the drinks and snacks to bring with you. We never did the mugs, too inconvenient (distance and place wise) If you need a snack/soda stop there is a hess mini mart right by. Art the greeter is a gem. So nice and friendly. Don't expect your family of 5 to walk up during a storm and get a ps at the cape may buffet for dinner. (here is our tried and true strategy) Have your dh and you go somewhere - there or yachtsman etc. and give them room charge cards to go to beaches and cream). If the line is long, like it usually is if its a prolonged storm during dinner, then give them some arcade money to use while waiting. Meet up later. Use the cool chess/checkers table in your room. I have survived 3 ds in the room, so you can too. We let our ds go alone to dd for dq, their favorite place. If you use the bus, remember you are not the first stop if resorts are sharing, be prepared to do alot of standing if you want the first bus of the day to somewhere etc. Also bring ponchos if rain is predicted and you are using a friendship. There is not much shelter at the boat landing dock if there is a crowd of people there. Surrey bike rentals are fun! Let your ds explore the board walk alone if you want. Enjoy your vacation.

We stayed in the BCV for 2 weeks last year and loved it. The breakfast bar by the lobby isn't free, but the pasteries are really nice. We went down there each morning to refill our mugs and get breakfast.
