I know that talking about getting into the Stormalong Bay pool is somewhat taboo...but i need some experienced opinions to a question...as i'm not sure there is a stated policy.

We are registered from 8/21 to 8/27 at Beach Club Villas and are completely experienced with the restrictions on pool hopping and the key checks at the main pool.

But...we will also be meeting up with another party that will more than likely be at another Disney resort.

In the past, we've had guests visit us and for various reasons...including pool.

Since it is the summer...but the "slow" portion of summer in the run up to labor day and after school resumes for a large part of the country...i need an opinion on whether we will run into hassles if we attempt to bring our traveling companions in?

I don't really attempt to look for angles or circumvent policy at WDW (former guy who use to enforce such policies)...but i can't interpret the pool procedures as well as i would like.

Thanks in advance:thumbsup2

The "policy" at SAB is pretty clear...no one except registered guests of BC, YC and BCV allowed.

On the other hand, enforcement is somewhat spotty. As usual, it depends on the CM on duty and how busy the pool is. I've been there when they were definitely checking every room key for each person. And I've seen them being less stringent about it too.

So I don't think any one can accurately predict whether you will have a "hassle". But I wouldn't count on getting your guests in, and wouldn't be upset if they were turned away.

Thank you for the response...it was pretty much the response i thought i would get.

don't worry...there will be no broken hearts...its a nice option if it was available, but the last thing i'll do is add stress to a trip by trying to sneak people in anywhere.

We are as casual as you can get at disney world...no stress needed. food, relaxation...and take or leave everything else. (no crowds tolerated...no lines over 15 minutes entered...real lazy)

But this does bring up a point...that Disney will never build a pool near a park like Stormalong Bay again...too much staffing required...too much of a hassle...not enough return in their eyes.

Pools like the bay lake tower one will be the norm for DVCs...unless the location is not as big of a draw and they are trying to cover a little for it...like at saratoga or kidani...

As the previous poster stated, it really is up to the CM at the pool entrance. No one can predict weather and crowd issues that may contribute to how busy SAB is on any given day nor how rigorously the policies will be enforced.

I really need to close this thread, as we really do not allow any discussion on ways around Disney/DVC policies. The only real answer is to simply ask at the poo entrance after your party arrives, and be prepared for a negative answer. If your guests are allowed entry, consider it a bit of Disney magic.
