Ok....we're getting close to purchasing a dvc membership. I have it narrowed down to 2 resorts. The location of both is perfect. I like idea of bcv being quieter than boardwalk and having a waterpark on site. Boardwalk seems to have lots of ammenities and looks to be cheaper and use less points per room.

Anyone have any advice???

Thanks!
Lisa

Boardwalk much better views.

If the pool at BCV is important to you, that would be the place to buy, and there are lots of resales out there right now. If the view or low points is more important, buy BWV. You seem to have the choices involved figured out. Only you can analyze your family's priorities. Good luck!

We did the same analysis and chose BWV.

Reasons:
1) Price/pt was a lot cheaper
2) Views are awesome
3) We are childless and will only care about the pool in Sept, traditionally an easier time to book a non-home resort. We also don't care about noise levels and like the action of the BWV
4) Points are cheaper to book standard views, if we want them. I have read that to get them, you *have* to book at 11-month window even for low times.
5) Gut feeling. We visited and ate at both resorts and wandered around to soak up the atmosphere. BWV won hands down for both of us.

Of all the reasons, #5 is the most important. Choose the resort that you love.

I've stayed at both DVC's. I stayed the first and second night that BCV's opened and really liked them. Now with that said, we own at BWV's. Our reasoning is that we liked the atmosphere, the rooms, views at BWV better and the fact that they have Grand Villias while BCV does not. I asume that you would be buying through re-sale and the BWV price per point is cheaper then BCV, which if it has any bearing on it is something to consider.

I own at BCV and have gotten a standard view room and a boardwalk view room in March, May, and Aug with no problems.

BCV is nice, quiet, relaxing but very far of a walk from Jellyrolls (5 min. at closing time is a long walk), so I'd chose BWV!

If you're concerned about noise - then chose BCV
If you like to have a close refill station for coffee, soda etc. chose BCV
Pool - definately BCV
Points - BWV
Action, activity - BWV
Jellyrolls - BWV!!!!!!

Thanks for the replies...they are helping.

Here's the thing....if we purchase a dvc...we will most likely not go to the parks every day that we are there....we have a 5 year old daughter (will be 6 at next trip)

One draw of BCV is the water park...seems like that could keep us (and our daughter) occupied for a few days out of the trip.

If we decided to go with BWV, is there enough to keep all of us occupied on those non-park days?

We are also most likely to go every year at thanksgiving (arriving the friday or saturday before and leaving the friday or saturday after).

It is sounding like BCV is your best option. The pool will definitely keep you and your daughter more occupied than anything at BWV except maybe the birds.

Booking T-giving likely requires doing so exactly at the 11-month window, probably calling day-by-day (others correct me if I am wrong?) so your home resort absolutely matters.

One thing nobody mentioned is Community Hall. It is GREAT for kids under 16 or so (probably best for 8-12 yo kids). Ping pong, video games, arts and cragts, foosball. free popcorn, movie rentals. My kids are not big swimmwers and have used it much more than the pool. I love BCV in the summer but at other times when we don't go swimming, I like BWV more.
Also, as for BC- pool food MUCH better (Hurricane Hannahs) and Beaches and Cream is great.

We own at BCV and have very good luck reserving BW View so for us-owning at BWV is not quite as important as BCV. They are both sensational, but if we had to own at only one, and planned to stay at both equally-it would have to BCV IMHO.
