can anyone tell me about the "marketplace at the beach club. Is it a store, resturant? I have looked on line but can not find any information?

thank you

It has souvenirs, limited grocery/personal items, coffee (delicious), and a limited menu for meals (various items for breakfast; sandwiches, salads, etc. for lunch/dinner. I believe a complete menu is available at wdwig.com.

Counter service food, limited selection, but more gourmet type foods. Plus the refrigerated/frozen foods like from the grocery store. They have excellent gelato - my favorite is the lemon.

The new marketplace is WONDERFUL!!! When I was there in April, one guy was getting some of the hot food from under the counter and saying how AMAZING it was. I have to admit...it did look REALLY good!!!

They also have gourmet desserts, and the gelato is to die for!!! The lemon IS really good, but I think 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 raspberry is the best!!

And the "Beach Club" specific merchandise is always SOO nice!! Of course, the lamp that I want is a little "too nice" for me ($250), but I am hoping I can talk dh into buying me one if they still have them when we go back in Dec.

Someone posted pics...you might want to do a search.

Basically, they took their original store (souvenirs, clothing, some snacks, etc.) and enlargened it to include a deli with fresh sandwiches, salads, and gelatto, a small refrigerated and frozen foods section, some basic food staples, a soft drink fountain and a few tall tables w/ chairs.

It's convenient if you need a few items and don't want to go off property to get them. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

One of the best additions to the newly reburbished area (imo) is the ability to refill your mugs! Over the years it has become crazy having to wait in the B & C line to refill a mug.

I found the Marketplace to be very convenient to the Villas. I enjoyed the opportunity to fill my mug without going out of my way.

thanks for all your help. Hopefully I can rent the points I need

I like the new marketplace but if you are tea drinkers like DH and I you have a problem! The hot water is too low for a mug to fit under it. I almost burned my hand the first day I used it. I did attend the BC breakfast meeting and mentioned this to the CMs who seemed concerned about this situation. I guess whoever designed the area didn't take into consideration that tea drinkers would want room to put their mug under the hot water. Annmarie

I'm also very enthusiastic about the new marketplace. We were at BCV for 3 days in May, and I think we ate at the marketplace about 4 times! And in addition, on checkout day, I ran down to the marketplace to take one of those yummy coconut and chocolate chip bars for the road. Everyone has their favorite gelato. Since the trip, Mom keeps talking about the Mango gelato as her favorite-actually she talks about missing the Mango gelato more than any attraction at WDW! I didn't care for it, but the pistachio-mmm!

I agree with others who have said that the Marketplace is wonderful. It is conveniently located to the villas. It has a nice selection of food and merchandise. Don't forget to try the gellato at the counter. It is out of this world!
